**Christmas in July is showing right NOW on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!!** If you have ever spent any time in New York City during the summertime, you know that it can get really hot and humid in this city. School officially ends this week and, after dealing with the pandemic for the last year and a half, everyone is excited at the prospect of the world starting to open back up. I know that one of the things I will be doing this summer is binge watching my favorite programs and channels in the comfort of my cool air conditioner. Hallmark Channel is one of my favorite channels because they always have the best family movies and, this summer, I'm excited to celebrate Christmas in July with the original premiere of "Crashing Through the Snow" on July 10th at 9pm/8c! It just so happens that Christmas is my favorite holiday so this event is right up my alley. I've always been a hopeless romantic and "Crashing Through the Snow," starring Amy Acker and Warren Christie, is … [Read more...]

Get Outdoors This Summer With Super Wubble Blue And Groovy Wubble!@SuperWubble #Ad
It has definitely required some creativity on the part of parents when it comes to getting kids and young people outdoors during this pandemic. As parents, we realize the importance of making sure that your kids stay active and get enough sunlight, Vitamin D, and fresh air. That is why our family love Super Wubble products! Not only are they durable and fun, but they allow our family to have fun outdoors safely and still remain active. Super Wubble Blue looks like a bubble but it plays like a ball! My teens love that they can kick it, whack it, throw it, bounce it—even sit on it! Super Wubble is made from a squishy, squashy, super soft and lightweight material called Xpandium and is engineered to be super gentle. Unlike other balls, it molds around whatever it hits – foot or face – then bounces away, leaving laughter in its wake. It can be inflated to gigantic proportions (24-30 inches is best) and is fun to play with indoors or out, all year round. Now that Spring has begun in New … [Read more...]
Make Your Child Feel At Ease At The Dentist
Every summer, I make sure to catch up on all of my kids' appointments since I teach full-time the rest of the year. Going to the dentist regularly is an important part of instilling good oral hygiene in my boys so we all go every six months for a checkup and a cleaning. My older son now sees the same dentist that my husband and I do because he is fourteen but our younger son still sees the pediatric dentist since he is eleven. Since we often made doctor's visits as a family, my younger son has had the opportunity of being present for his older brother's dentist appointments which has helped a lot by way of soothing his fears regarding what to expect during his own visit. I also allowed him to ask the dentist a lot of questions during my cleaning because he was very curious about the whole process. It really helped him to understand why we place so much emphasis on brushing his teeth a few times a day and flossing twice a day. Once the time came for his own dentist … [Read more...]

Apple Oats Muffins
I couldn't believe how much sugary candy was given out on Halloween this week. It really made me start thinking about being more careful about all the junk that the kids consume now that the holidays are right around the corner. If I know my family, they will be bringing a lot of snacks and desserts for my sons and nephews when they come over to celebrate. I'd rather they enjoy some more nutritious and wholesome treats. Although I love baking, I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen so I try to plan for recipes that will allow me to freeze and defrost them later so we could still enjoy them. One of my favorite recipes to make around this time of the year is for Apple Oat Muffins. Not only do my guys love them, but they also taste great and are perfect for enjoying for breakfast or lunch. My boys even like to eat them as an after-school snack when they get home in the afternoon! Apple Oat Muffins … [Read more...]
Felt Candy Corn Puppet Craft
Can you guys believe that Halloween is just two days away? I normally have all of my costume and decor preparations taken care of way in advance but this year I am way behind schedule. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the fact that I just started a new teaching position this past September and I have been completely swamped with work and everything else. This weekend I am taking advantage to spend some quality time with my boys getting ready for Halloween. They have always enjoyed all of the festivities around this holiday and, despite their being older, they still enjoy helping me get everything ready. Since my younger nephews are coming over too, I have some fun arts and crafts planned including the one below: Felt Candy Corn Puppet Craft Supplies needed: White, black, orange, yellow craft felt Hot glue, glue gun Scissors Directions: 1. Begin by cutting out the two base pieces of your … [Read more...]
