Enjoy A Halloween Monster Movie Night! #HotelT3 #Ad

Can you guys believe that Halloween is right around the corner? My family and I are so excited with all the costume and candy preparations that this fun holiday has really crept up on us. One of our favorite Halloween traditions is also watching spooky movies together and making the night a fun monster movie night. That is why we have added Hotel Transylvania 3 to our scary movie collection!     Available now on Digital HD and on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD, Mavis surprises Dracula with a family voyage on a luxury, haunted monster cruise ship. Of course, the rest of the Drac Pack has to tag along, and that’s when things get a little…batty. The monsters are having a great time, indulging in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to colossus-sized buffets and exotic excursions, but then the unexpected happens when Drac falls for the ship’s mysterious, and dangerous, human captain Ericka. It also has some fun, family bonus features, … [Read more...]

Netflix Halloween Doorbell #StreamTeam @Netflix #Ad

It’s Halloween night and you’re just settling in for a scary movie marathon when...“Trick-or-treat!” Every Halloween, Netflix pause rates spike as viewers around the country get up to give out candy. But this year, you can stay inside while Netflix handles Halloween—for you and your ghoulish guests.     The Netflix Halloween Doorbell welcomes trick-or-treaters with spooky sounds and music from your favorite Netflix shows and points them to candy, so you can treat yourself to a night of non-stop spooky streaming. How it works:     The Netflix Halloween Doorbell is hung right over your existing doorbell, temporarily hiding it from trick-or-treaters. As trick-or-treaters approach the house, a proximity sensor in the doorbell triggers the theme song from your chosen Netflix show. Pressing the doorbell initiates a scream from that show’s characters and reveals a customizable message to your costumed guests on an LCD display screen. Stream & … [Read more...]

White, black, orange, yellow craft felt
Hot glue, glue gun

Spooky Pumpkin Grahams

We are two days away from Halloween and I am here going crazy trying to make sure my sons costumes arrive on time.  Both of our boys have been sick the past two weeks so I have been very busy taking care of them and trying to sanitize our home of all the sick germs.  As a result, I am way behind schedule this year with all my Halloween preparations.     There is always time to prepare and enjoy a delicious treat so I took some time this week to make some Spooky Pumpkin Grahams for my guys.  I figured they could use a pick-me-up after being sick and I was tired of the monotony of cleaning everything so I needed a distraction.  Not only am I really pleased at how they turned out, but everyone loved them.  I plan of making more to give out to the Trick or Treaters on Saturday. Make Halloween More Spooky And Fun! #BestBuyHalloween @BestBuy #Ad

Halloween has always been such a fun holiday for us.  Ever since we bought our home in 2004, we have really enjoyed planning for all of the Trick or Treaters that come knock on our door that evening.  I have been known to go a little overboard buying candy to give out and we enjoy hanging skeletons in the front yard to add to the spooky vibe.     My husband and I enjoy a good prank and Halloween is also a great time to play tricks on unsuspecting people and scare the wits out of them.  Most families who love this time of the year as much as we do look forward to decorating and setting up Halloween pranks and haunted houses.  A friend of ours actually spends the whole season visiting haunted attractions around our state.     In recent years, Halloween pranks have gotten more elaborate and even spookier than ever thanks to all of the technology that we have at our disposal.  Best Buy has all of the spooky and fun products that … [Read more...]

Hurricane Sandy Did Not Stop Halloween in NYC!

I spent a lot of time today pondering over whether or not we should take the boys Trick or Treating this evening. After all, the entire East Coast and Tri-state area is still suffering from the horrible effects of Hurricane Sandy earlier this week. Although we are fine and did not sustain any damage to our home, many of our neighbors did and our neighborhood is full of felled trees and downed power lines.         As an educator, I understand the importance of returning to a sense of normalcy for children after any natural disaster or tragedy. My sons, much like many of the children who were affected by this storm, have lived through and experienced the anxiety involved in waiting for the storm to hit, sitting through the storm, and assessing damages afterwards. They have been looking forward to celebrating Halloween all month.         Since we purchased their costumes last month, my husband and I decided to just throw caution to the wind and … [Read more...]
