Celebrate Your Loves This Valentine’s Day! @bakemeawish #Ad

Ever since my sons were little, I have always made it a priority to make every single holiday as special as possible for both of them. This month, we have Valentine's Day coming up and this special day has been no exception. One of the ways that I have showed them how special they are in my life and how much I love them is by surprising them with special treats on this day that has been traditionally used to demonstrate your love and appreciation for the ones you love. This year, I surprised both of them with a Valentine's Heart-Shaped Cookie Tin from Bake Me A Wish! Even though they are both teenagers now, I know that they have come to appreciate the special gestures that I do for them during the holidays. They each have a tremendous sweet tooth so what better way to put smiles on their faces than by presenting them with one dozen delectable heart-shaped cookies?! Each moist and delicious sugar cookie is enrobed and decorated by hand. These cookies come in a keepsake tin and … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

We are two weeks away from the year's most romantic holiday and I am already starting to feel all the love in the air. Not only do I like to celebrate the day with my sweetheart, AKA-Hubby, but I also enjoy making special treats for my boys so they will be reminded of how much they are loved.     When they were little, I used to make little gift baskets for them with little trinkets and sweets. Now that they are older, the way to their hearts is through their stomachs so I make sure that I bake their favorite desserts for them to enjoy.     This year, by special request, I am making cupcakes for Valentine's Day. Ever since we had our kitchen remodeled last summer, they expect me to use our new oven and stove whenever they have a craving for a special meal or they have a sweet tooth. I'm starting to wonder if getting new appliances was a good idea after all!     Of course, I'm just kidding, I love baking and cooking for all my guys! The best part is that these Valentine's Day … [Read more...]

How Valentine’s Day Changed My Life…

This Valentine's Day will make eighteen years since I met my husband for the first time.  I can still remember that day like it was yesterday... He was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina at the time and we met in a chat room online.  Neither one of us had ever done that before but we really seemed to connect and had so many things in common.  That weekend, he had called me to tell me that he would be unable to take leave and drive up to New York with his roommate because he had been assigned guard duty.     Of course, I was extremely disappointed that I would not be able to see him but I resigned myself to the fact and just tried to keep busy.  Sometime in the evening, I received a call from Ben telling me that his roommate would be stopping off at my house on his way to Jersey to drop off my Valentine's Day present.  I could hear a lot of noise in the background during the call and he assured me that they were just running drills … [Read more...]

Dollar Store DIY: Heart Plate Wall Hanging

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and couples are getting ready to celebrate their love for one another.  Now that I am a mom, I like to include my sons in all of our holiday celebrations.  Some of the ways that I express how much I love them is by making little sweetheart packages for them every year that contain some of their favorite chocolates and sweets.       I also like to create personalized gifts for them without spending a lot of money.  This year, I spent some time in our local Dollar Store and shopped around for some affordable arts and crafts.  Since we just bought them a new bedroom set and are redecorating their bedroom, I thought making a heart plate wall hanging would be the perfect gift for this Valentine's Day.  Not only can they hang it up in their room, but every time they look at it they will be reminded of how much I love both of them. Cheap Valentine’s Day Ideas

Let's face it, while most of us really enjoy celebrating Valentine's Day with our sweethearts, it can sometimes turn out to be a pretty expensive holiday.  The problem is that it lands less than three months after Christmas so many are still recovering from all the money they spent in December buying presents.  It's important to remember, however, that making time to show your partner how you feel about them and enjoying some romance together is a necessary part of having a good relationship.  The good news is that you can show your honey how much you love him or her without spending a lot of money. Make a love coupon book Love coupons are a great way to surprise your special someone on Valentine's Day.  You can create or print ones that are filled out already and also include blank ones that your partner can fill out with whatever task they want you to complete.  Some of the tasks that you can include on the coupons are enjoying a home cooked … [Read more...]

Show Love With Peanuts This Valentine’s Day! @Snoopy #Giveaway #Ad

It's almost Valentine's Day and we are all trying to figure out creative and romantic ways to demonstrate to our sweethearts how much we love them.  Not to mention looking forward to all the chocolate treats that we also get to indulge in just because it's a special holiday.  Many of you probably don't know that, over the years, Charles Schulz created dozens of Valentine’s Day-themed Peanuts comic strips.       Many of the strips revolve around Charlie Brown’s eagerness to receive valentines…only to be disappointed, every. single. time. In several of the strips, Charlie Brown watches longingly as Snoopy sits on top of his doghouse reading his stacks of valentines—while his own mailbox remains embarrassingly empty.     At other times, Charlie Brown’s stomach is in knots as he focuses on getting a valentine from the Little Red-Haired Girl or giving one to her, but he never quite manages to get up the nerve to approach her. … [Read more...]

Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Snoopy And Belle! @Snoopy #ThePeanutsMovie #Giveaway #Belle #Ad

Ever since our boys were younger, we have always made sure that they were included in every holiday celebration.  For Valentine's Day every year, I have always made them goodie bags full of sweets and chocolate as well as gotten them little plush animals that they could cuddle with.  They have come to expect these little tokens of love whenever February rolls around.       Now that they are older, they usually bring treats into school to celebrate Valentine's Day with their teacher and classmates.  As you can see from the photos, my son is ready to start preparing his valentines and other treats to give out to his friends for their party Thursday.  It's a very sweet way to show his appreciation for his friends.     Last Saturday, adorable 10-year-old actress Francesca Capaldi—who stars as Charlie Brown’s beloved Little Red-Haired Girl in The Peanuts Movie, the 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios’ Peanuts 3D feature film debuting worldwide on Nov. 6—hosted a … [Read more...]
