Simple Dinner Solutions For Working Moms! #BalanceYourPlate @Stouffers #Ad

*This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Stouffer's and WeAllGrow Latina. All opinions are 100% my own.     Everyone wants to eat better, but sometimes we need a little inspiration and simple solutions to choose from to make it a reality more often.  This is especially true for working moms like me who love preparing delicious meals for their families but just don't have the time to spend hours in the kitchen preparing elaborate recipes.  Recently, I have learned about the Balance Your Plate program which is designed to educate everyone about ways to put together nutritious meals that incorporate both frozen and fresh foods.  This is such a big help when it comes to finding that balance between our busy lives and making sure we are eating healthy.     Research shows that Americans are only meeting MyPlate recommendations for vegetables, fruit, proteins, dairy and grains seven days out of 365.  This is of great concern to me … [Read more...]

Tips For Tackling Tough Laundry Stains For Working Moms! #OxiClean #Partner

To say that I am a busy mom is an understatement.  As I like to explain when people ask, I'm literally going all the time between having a career as a full-time educator, publishing a successful blog, and raising children in New York City.  Most days, I am lucky to fit in some "Me" time just to take a shower so I often do get backed up when it comes to doing laundry.     It is especially frustrating when I have trouble getting stains out of clothes because I just don't have a lot of time in my schedule to spend scrubbing them out of our dirty laundry.  For a long time, I have been on the lookout for a laundry detergent that removes a wide-range of stubborn, dried-on stains the first time around to maximize on the limited time that I have to do laundry.     OxiClean™ Laundry detergent truly has been the answer to my Working Mom prayers!  It saves me lots of time because it tackles stains in just one wash and does not contain … [Read more...]

Confessions Of A Really Tired Mom #IWasSoTired @Tylenol #Sweeps #Ad

I'm not even going to mince words in this blog post, I am really tired.  Now, you are all most likely saying to yourself right now, "Join the club!"  As most of you are probably moms, I know that you feel my pain when it comes to the topic of sleeplessness.  I'd like to say that, like any other self-respecting superhero, I can go days or even weeks without sleep and still perform at optimal levels.  However, this is simply not the case...    The truth is that I have done some really embarrassing things lately as a result of my exhaustion.  Let me begin by saying that I'm normally a pleasure to be around, despite what my husband says.  Unfortunately, my grouchiness has reached an all-time high as I imagine getting some sleep more than I actually do sleep.  As a matter of fact, my eight year-old son likes to refer to me as "Mommy Meanie" in the morning.     It's not easy being all things, to all people, at all times.  This is why I sprayed my neck and wrists with hairspray … [Read more...]

5 Myths About Being A Working Mom

This past week, I have read a lot of posts on social media about the difficulties and triumphs of being a Working Mom.  Many of them make me chuckle seeing as how I can relate since I have juggled a career since I became a mother eleven years ago.  However, I have also found that some people have the wrong idea about what Working Moms experience on a daily basis.     Although we are driven to excel in our careers, we also have the same concerns about parenting and our families that all mothers have.  After all, being a mom is a lot of work whether you add working outside the home to that equation or not.  This post is definitely not about whether Stay At Home Moms or Working Moms have it easier or harder than one another.  In my mind, it is a given that all moms work hard.     The purpose of this post is just to debunk some of the myths about Working Moms that I have been reading lately…  So, without further ado, here are 5 myths that are completely wrong about women juggling … [Read more...]

Being A Working Mom When Your Kid Is Sick… #WorkingMom

The past couple of weeks have been rough for us in the health and wellness department.  If you have been keeping up with us here on the blog and on social media, you know that I have been sick on and off with a bad cold, we have been dealing with my mother's mental health issues, and this week my younger son got sick with strep throat and asthma as well.     Normally, when either one of my sons is sick, my Mom stays with them during the day.  This really puts my mind at ease while I am at work because I know that she will care for them just the way that I would if I was home.  Since my mother is currently in the hospital, I had to take my sick son with me to work on Monday in order to administer his asthma medication throughout the day.     Today we had a snow day so I was glad to be able to stay home with my son an additional day to care for him.  He is definitely better but he still has a cough which I wish I could take away from him.  Tomorrow it will be back to work and I … [Read more...]
