I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is this week already! Since we are going to my sister's house on Thanksgiving Day, I am excited that I got out of cooking this year. I do, however, want to bring some treats for all the kids so I made these Turkey Treat Bags for all of them. They were really easy and inexpensive to make and I hope you enjoy making them for your family as much as I enjoyed making them for mine! Turkey Treat Bags Materials: Tulle (Use rectangle tulle from a roll or tulle pre-cut circles) Pipe cleaners (red, tan, orange and yellow) Peanut butter candy with a crunchy shell (or your favorite mix of candies in fall colors!) Googly eyes Glue (hot glue or another strong glue) Scissors Small clear hair elastics Optional: clear treat bags or sandwich bags Directions: Place candies in the middle of your tulle. {Tulle from a roll may be used (cut to 16”) or precut tulle circles.} Secure the tulle closed with a … [Read more...]
Watch Hallmark Channel’s “Christmas in Homestead” Thanksgiving Day! #CountdowntoChristmas #Ad
The holidays are my favorite time of the year because they allow me to focus on the people who really matter in my life. As a Working Mom, I spend a lot of time juggling my many responsibilities including being a mom, a full-time educator, a wife, a professional blogger, and much more. I like to prioritize my time during this season to redirect my attention to where it truly belongs, which is on my husband and my sons. They are the center of my world and I cherish every opportunity to spend quality time with them. Hallmark Channel is my family's prime destination for all things holiday related! This season, we look forward to original movie releases such as A Wish For Christmas, Christmas Cookies, My Christmas Dream and much more! Be Thankful For A Lot More This Thanksgiving! #EnjoyTheGo @Charmin #Ad
Thanksgiving is only two days away and there are so many things to be thankful for this year. First and foremost, I am thankful for my family and their continued good health and happiness. My boys are a constant source of pride and love for me and they are my number one priority. There are, however, a few more humble things that I'm grateful for and one of them is the opportunity to get together with those whom I love to celebrate one another and to enjoy some really delicious food together. We are going to eat dinner at my sister's house this year and I am so excited that I don't have to cook. You see, I've always had the task of preparing and organizing the entire meal for most of our family holidays so it will be nice to just show up to eat for a change. My sister is a really good cook and my aunt will be helping her prepare all the food so we are all really looking forward to stuffing ourselves this Thursday. … [Read more...]
Pumpkin Puzzle Craft
As we all prepare for Thanksgiving tomorrow, I am excited about the special time that I will have to spend with my family. There is just something magical about having those moments to create memories that will last a lifetime. I plan on taking many photos and capturing every single smile and hug so I can enjoy looking back on them for years to come. Since this is also a long holiday weekend, I am planning a few activities and arts and crafts with my boys to keep them busy. Both of my sons love doing puzzles so I thought it would be a neat idea to create their own pumpkin puzzle. It's a great way to get them to use their creativity and their imaginations. Also, they can enjoy putting their puzzles up in their room once they finish designing them. Pumpkin Puzzle Craft Material- Old puzzle pieces Orange craft paint Black craft paint Green craft paint Elmer's glue White paper Paint … [Read more...]

Uninvited Guest
I am here to report that I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family! Everything went smoothly and there were no surprises. That is, except for one huge surprise, my Mother In Law crashed Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, I said crashed because she was definitely not invited. There were a number of reasons for that including the fact that she lives out of state, that we haven't seen her in over a year, and that she hates me. I'm not exaggerating, the woman really despises me. It would stand to reason that she would go out of her way to avoid having to see me, however, she has always done everything within her power to be a troublemaker and to get on my nerves. Let me describe the scene to you, everyone was sitting down getting ready to eat the Thanksgiving meal together when my husband received a call from his sister that they were here in New York and they wanted to come over to the house. I knew this was a recipe for disaster because of our history together but … [Read more...]
