It’s surreal to me that next week is already Christmas! This has always been my favorite time of the year because everyone seems to be in a good mood around the holidays and just a little bit nicer. I’m very excited to spend some quality time with my loved ones during this holiday season and I am reminded of holidays past and favorite memories with my husband and my sons. Both of my sons are now teenagers but I think they continue to love some of the traditions that we have repeated year after year.
Part of spending time together during the holidays has always included watching Christmas movies together and really getting into the holiday spirit. We’ve been planning our holiday movie lineup as we approach our upcoming vacation from work and school next week here in New York City. It features Professional ballerina Natalia who returns home to Richmond at Christmas and works with a ballet student who has a flare for Latin dance.
Some of my favorite memories revolve around the time that we spend every year putting up our Christmas tree together. We’ve collected ornaments over the years and my sons also made ornaments in school that I have saved and cherished year after year. Taking them out of storage every year to put them up on the tree immediately catapults me to the precious moments in the past when my boys presented me with these keepsakes. I cannot even begin to describe the sentimental value that these items have for me.
