Inspire Your Children To Solve Problems In Creative Ways! #Wishenpoof @KidzVuz #Partner

My nephew Christian is a very joyful and precocious little boy.  At three years old, he is always looking to investigate the world around him and to assert his independence when it comes to completing tasks and solving problems.  Such is the life of a preschooler who is exploring his surroundings and learning all of the wonders that fill his daily life.  The new Amazon Original Series, Wishenpoof, will be available for Amazon Prime members beginning on August 14th, and is perfect for curious preschoolers like my nephew.  Let me tell you a little bit about it before its Amazon Prime debut!     As his loving aunt, or "Titi" as he calls me, I am always looking for television programs that will inspire this creativity in him.  Not to mention that I am also an educator so there are qualities that I search for in children's programming.  I am very impressed by the new Amazon Original Series, Wishenpoof.  The series was … [Read more...]

Take Time Out For Yourself And Put Your Feet Up! #StreamTeam @Netflix #Ad

*I participated in a campaign on behalf of Netflix. As a member of the Netflix Stream Team, I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.     Although Summer Vacation began this past week here in New York City, parenting is a 24/7 job!  That is why taking time out for yourself helps keep you strong for your family. This month I'm switching gears and making the focus some time to myself for a change.     Most of my favorite shows are on hiatus, but Netflix has a selection of titles to get me through the summer months. And yes, that includes all-new episodes of some of my favorite Netflix originals -- Orange Is the New Black season 2 launched June 6th!  I plan on waiting until the kids are asleep for the night and then relaxing with one of my favorite new shows. Here are some of the titles I have heard about but I haven't yet had time to watch but plan to this Summer: 1. Orange Is the New Black 2. Scandal 3. Pretty Little Liars 4. Sherlock 5. Breaking … [Read more...]

Celebrate The History Of Latino Americans! @FordEspanol @PBS #LatinosPBS #LatinosFord

This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Ford.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.     Last week, I shared a very special experience with my two sons who are ages seven and ten.  We sat down as a family and watched the second episode in the PBS series Latino Americans which kicked off our official celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.  It was a wonderful opportunity for us to spend quality time as a family and to reflect on the many contributions that Latinos have made over the last 500 years.     This episode focused on the struggles that Latinos encountered during the World War II years and years that followed the war.  Although many Latinos proudly served this country and defended it during the war, they were still discriminated against and had to fight for civil rights during this time.  We also learned about how Latinos from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Cuba came to the United States looking for better opportunities for their … [Read more...]

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month As A Family @FordEspanol @PBS #LatinosPBS #LatinosFord

*This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Ford.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.     Family is very important in the Latino culture.  We pride ourselves on always being there for one another and passing down our customs and heritage from one generation to the next.  In our home, our sons are blessed to be mixed with Spaniard, Cuban, and Puerto Rican.  My husband and I think it is important for both of them to know about their roots so we work very hard to instill these cultural values in them throughout the whole year but especially during Hispanic Heritage Month.     All of our grandparents migrated to the United States with the hopes of creating better opportunities for their children and for future generations.  My grandparents actually moved to Venezuela from Spain and lived there for many years working and saving money to come to America.  They struggled with very little money and two children but managed to persevere due to the promise … [Read more...]

A Whole New Generation Of El Chavo Fans! @ElChavoToys #Giveaway #Sponsored

*This post was written by me on behalf of Jakks Pacific.  I received a product sample to review.  All opinions are 100% mine.     Growing up, most Latino kids knew and loved El Chavo.  He spoke our language, made us laugh with his funny antics, and taught us about friendship.  It didn't matter whether you lived in New York City or Miami, we all felt connected to his kind heart and his enthusiasm.  We also loved the rest of his quirky friends and his many unforgettable catchphrases such as "Eso, eso, eso!"  (Thassit!, thatssit!, thassit!)     What many people don't know is that El Chavo was also a global phenomenon and is beloved internationally as much as he is here in the United States.  El Chavo is the number one family property for Latinos and the most profitable entertainment franchise in the Spanish-speaking world.  Today re-runs of El Chavo del 8 are watched worldwide in over 90 countries, including the United States, Latin America, Brazil, and Spain.     For those of … [Read more...]
