This past week at school, many of my students have been signing up for the summer camp that is offered through our district. After graduation, last Monday, many of the parents came up to me to ask me if I could provide them with any advice on how they could prepare their children to embark on this new experience. A lot of my students will be attending camp for the first time and they are nervous about how they will feel once they get there. Although many of the kids are excited about being on their own for a couple of weeks, the parents are mostly nervous about being away from their "Babies" for such a long time. Now that the month of June has begun, my sons are looking forward to finishing school and starting their summer vacation. This will be an important time for them to enjoy the warm weather and to spend quality family time together.
