Celebrating Three Kings Day In Our Family! #JCPenneyLatino #RealLatinoHolidays @JCPenney #Ad

*This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and JCPenney.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.      We always celebrate Three Kings Day in our family.  This year, however, I have decided to spend a lot more time teaching my boys some of our family traditions around this special holiday.  It is really important to me that they look back upon this day fondly the way that I do from my own childhood in Spain.  My Grandparents always made sure that this day was very special in their home and I want it to be equally special in our house.     One of my favorite memories from our family Three Kings Day celebrations is the year that I wanted a special toy called Boti Bota.  It was fashioned after a character in one of my favorite game shows and was a toy that you wrapped around one ankle and swung around and jumped over with your other foot.  All of the kids in my class had one and I wanted one so badly!  Every single day, I reminded my Grandmother … [Read more...]

Our Christmas Family Traditions #JCPenneyLatino #RealLatinoHolidays @JCPenney #Ad

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and JCPenney.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.     Anyone who is close to our family knows that Christmas is a very important time for us.  Since my siblings and I were children, we learned the value of spending quality time with our loved ones during this very special time of the year.  As far back as I can remember, we were always surrounded by family for Christmas and there were unique traditions that we shared as part of this celebration.     Since we are from Spain, my father always makes a huge pot of Paella for us to eat on Christmas Eve.  It is a saffron-flavored Spanish dish made with varying combinations of rice, vegetables, meat, chicken, and seafood.  You know it is Christmas in our home when the smells of my Dad's cooking come wafting through the entire house.    We always celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve which is known as Nochebuena or "the Good Night."  After we feast on … [Read more...]

Celebrate The Real Spirit Of The Holidays! #JCPenneyLatino #RealLatinoHolidays @JCpenney #Ad

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and JCPenney.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.    Thanksgiving has always been a very important holiday in our family.  Although it is a holiday that we adopted here in the United States, it has become a special day for family bonding.  Since I was a child, we would all get together at my grandmother's house and spend time with one another being thankful for all of the blessings that were bestowed upon our family that year.  The food that we shared and the unity that we felt made it one of the most important days of the year and I have carried those feelings into adulthood.     Nowadays, my siblings and I carry on the Thanksgiving traditions that we learned as kids.  Every year, we get together with our own children and we break bread together.  The best part is that we still prepare a lot of the dishes that our grandmother used to make all of those years ago.  One of the recipes that she was most well … [Read more...]

Back To School With Boys & Girls Clubs Of America! #Tools4BTS @BGCA_Clubs

*This post was written by me on behalf of Boys & Girls Club of America.  All opinions are 100% mine.    This morning, my boys and I had the pleasure of attending the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA's) Wake Up Call Back-to-School Kick Off event in New York City.  The event was supported by JCPenney and aims to motivate kids to be prepared for academic success this school year.    The event took place in Foley Square and we had the opportunity to see legendary basketball player Shaquille O'Neal participating with students in a unique obstacle course.  We stood with students on the sidelines cheering our teams onto victory and, each child who participated in running the obstacle course, received an honorary diploma.  Shaq and Mommy O'Neal also sounded the alarm to signal the start of the Back-to-School season.    My boys also participated in running the obstacle course and it meant a lot to me because I want them to be excited about starting off the school … [Read more...]

Liz Claiborne Made Me Gorgeous For My Date With Hubby! #ClaiborneClasico

By now, I know most of you are waiting on pins and needles to find out which one of my beautiful outfits from Liz Claiborne was voted the favorite for my special date with my husband.  I won't keep you guys guessing anymore, 72% of you voted for outfit number 2!     As I got ready for our date, I wondered if my husband was going to have a positive reaction to my outfit.  After all, you know how uninterested men can sometimes be when it comes to women's fashion.  I decided to layer my look by wearing a black dressy tank top under my gorgeous Liz Claiborne sweater.  The contrast between the silver threads in the gray sweater and the black top under it was beautiful.     When I walked out into my living room, my husband called out, "Wow, you look beautiful!"  I'm sure you guys would agree that this was the perfect validation to let me know that my readers had chosen the right outfit.  Even my sons loved it which made me feel like the whole evening was really going to be a … [Read more...]

What Outfit Should I Wear For My Date With Hubby? (Reader’s Choice) #ClaiborneClasico

This past weekend I had the pleasure of heading to my local JCPenney to choose the two potential outfits for my upcoming date night with my husband.  Since my husband had to work Saturday, I took my two sons with me and we decided to make a day of it.  As we were driving towards the store, I made a mental note to make sure to choose outfit options that are both stylish and true to my usual comfortable style.     As we entered the store I was pleased to see that the Liz Claiborne section was prominently displayed and very shopper friendly.  As you can see from the following photos, not only was the display colorful and vibrant but also welcoming and comfortable.  If you look closely enough, you can even see my six year old lounging on their modern white lounging chair.    I spent the first part of the hour perusing through the fabulous display of Liz Claiborne handbags and wallets.  Not only was I impressed with the variety of the handbags but by their colors and style … [Read more...]

Liz Claiborne Is Helping Me “Dress To Impress” My Husband On Date Night! #ClaiborneClasico

Lately, my husband and I have not had a lot of time to spend together.  Much of it has had to do with me returning to work as a teacher this month as well as the fact that he has taken on some extra hours at his job.  It just seems like we are always burning the candle at both ends and rarely have time to go out together without the kids.     As a result, we have decided to bring back our monthly "date night" where we dress up, leave the kids with their grandparents, and enjoy each other's company.  I've been with my husband thirteen years but I still get giddy and excited over planning my outfit and getting ready for our special night.  Next month, you guys will actually have some input as to what I wear and how I accessorize for my special night with Hubby.     I'm a very lucky gal and I have been given a gift certificate to shop at Liz Claiborne's New Shop at JCPenney!  This means that I will be able to purchase my date outfit from their new line which includes plus sizes for … [Read more...]
