*I wrote this post as part of my participation in a blog tour on behalf of TapInfluence and Glad and received compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. However, all opinions expressed are my own. As the mother of two sons, I consider it my personal responsibility to teach them the life skills that they will need to be independent and productive members of the community once they become adults. This includes spending time with them teaching them how to take care of things around the house such as cleaning, cooking and doing laundry. This past week, I taught my boys how to get the kitchen ready for entertaining when the whole family comes over. This borough of New York City is often depicted in a less than favorable light and we don't get the credit that we deserve for being full of decent and hardworking people. That is why I was so excited when I found out that Gain was coming to the Bronx to transform local neighborhood laundromats into something special. I immediately knew that this would help to spread an unexpected dose of joy throughout our community! This past Friday, I had the pleasure of meeting Bronx-born musician Leslie Grace, who has partnered with Gain, to showcase how art, music and culture collide to celebrate the launch of six community-decorated Laundromats throughout the Bronx, Spanish Harlem and Washington … [Read more...]
