*This is part of a product review campaign with Orgullosa; complimentary products were provided. However, all opinions expressed are my own.     Anyone who has visited my household recently knows that we have been rooting for our favorite soccer teams as they all battle to be number one in the world.  Sadly, our two top teams are now out of the competition but that hasn't stopped us from enjoying the remaining games and taking advantage of spending some quality time together as a family.     This year, Orgullosa is rewarding diehard soccer fans with an awesome giveaway where you all have a chance to win some huge prizes!  By uploading a photo that demonstrates the passion and pride that you have for your favorite teams and colors, you will be eligible to win a TV, XBOX1, sound system and lots of P&G products!     Some of my favorite memories of watching soccer with my family when I was a kid in Spain are of sitting around the living room with my parents and grandparents … [Read more...]

The MIL Strikes Again…

Those of you who are regular readers of this blog know that I do not have the best relationship with my Mother In Law.  Actually, to say that we have a bad relationship is an understatement, the woman hates me.  To fully understand the history between us, you would have to perform a search of this blog and go back in the archives to read about all the wonderful things that she has done to me over the years.     My problem is that I am a glutton for punishment because, when it comes to family, I always let them get away with a lot more than I normally would with non-relatives.  This is probably what caused our most recent run-in with one another, the fact that I am a sucker for family and that she is determined to get at me in any way shape or form that she possibly could.  After the fact, I am still at a loss over whether I asked for it or whether she is just a truly disturbed individual.  You decide...     Let me go back, if I may to about six months ago when I received a friend … [Read more...]

Watch Your Mouth!

This past week, I had to get involved in something that I simply could not hold my tongue about anymore.  You see, the teenage daughter of one of my family members posted something extremely inappropriate on Facebook and I just could not turn a blind eye to it.  Believe me, this was totally against my better judgment because this is not the first time that this has happened with this teenage cousin.  She and her siblings have posted vulgar and sexual things on Facebook in the past and getting involved in it did not turn out very well for me.     Herein lies the problem, their mother is an enabler.  She had children well into her mid to late thirties and now she complains that she doesn't have the energy to deal with their teenage shenanigans.  A contributing factor to all of this has been the decline of her health over the years.  Although she is not incapacitated in any way, she has been in treatment over the years for a menagerie of physical ailments and she blames her inability … [Read more...]

Edit Friends…

Recently, I did something on my personal Facebook page that I have done numerous times before.  I deleted people from my friends' list that I never interact with or that I felt had requested access to my page for all of the wrong reasons.  Just as has happened many times before, a few people seem to have been annoyed by it.  I have especially found this to be true with some of my colleagues at work.      Let me begin by saying that I don't just add anyone to my personal page.  The purpose of creating that page was to stay connected to family members who live far away so that they may see current pictures of my sons and my family and also to communicate with close friends whom I don't see regularly but am still interested in keeping in contact with.  Somewhere along the way, I completely deviated from this original plan.  I'm not entirely sure why this happened but I am going to speculate that a big part of it had to do with me receiving friend requests from … [Read more...]
