All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias Being a Working Mom can be challenging enough as it is but add to that living in the most fast-paced city in the world and it becomes even more interesting. As a matter of fact, many of my friends wonder how I have ever even managed to get out of the house since I had my boys because they know that it is not easy being a full-time middle school teacher and a mom. When I had my older son in 2003, I realized right away that I would have to get really creative and resourceful in order to be able to navigate being a mother in New York City. There are just so many things for busy New York moms on-the-go to consider who live in the Big Apple such as packing a diaper bag that won't weigh you down or getting babies ready to head out and enjoy the big city. Having lived in the City That Never Sleeps for the majority of my life, I adapted right away to … [Read more...]

Give Your Tween Or Teen The Perfect Gift This Season! #GiftingAudio #Giveaway #CBias #Ad
*This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GiftingAudio #CollectiveBias As my boys are getting older, I am realizing that it is getting harder and harder to pick just the right gifts to give them during the holidays. My older son is now eleven and in middle school so he is trying to establish himself as an individual and is very vocal about what he likes and what he doesn't like. On the other hand, his younger brother loves to sing and share with others his favorite tunes. Gone are the days of just buying whatever toys are hot that season. I now have to be more creative about their presents because I want them to know that I have been paying attention to their interests and hobbies. Like most tweens and teens, our sons are very much into listening to music. Most days, you will see them each with a pair of earphones on jamming to their favorite tunes and playlists. We are currently in the process of … [Read more...]

All opinions are mine alone. #TheStoryOfEmma #CollectiveBias Ever since I was a little girl in Spain, I was taught that education was the key that would open any door for me in my future. As early as I can remember, I would walk to school with my grandmother and she would remind me to do well in class that day because education was everything. She would always keep drilling into me that she never had the opportunity to get an education and that it was one of her greatest regrets. When I was eight years old, my parents sent for me to come to the United States because they had finally secured jobs and an apartment. They would now be able to care for and support my siblings and I in this new country. The prospect of coming here was daunting to me because I did not speak English and I had never traveled out of Spain that I could remember. As soon as I arrived and began to attend school, I knew … [Read more...]
Celebrate Soccer Season With The Perfect Pair Of Foods! #GolazoKraft #CollectiveBias #Shop #Ad
*I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser. Soccer is a beloved sport in our home. My husband and I are both of Latin descent and we have lived in our native countries of Spain and Puerto Rico where fútbol is the national pastime. Every four years when that big soccer tournament comes around, we really enjoy predicting which teams will make it to the end and, of course, cheering for our own countries' teams. This past week, we all got together at my mother's house to watch Spain play. Unfortunately, they were unable to win and move forward in the competition. Although we were all disappointed, we still managed to have a great time together and to enjoy each other's company along with some great food. I normally arrange with my family members a list of dishes that each person will bring when we get together to watch soccer … [Read more...]
