Surprising My Son With The Mazda3 Grand Touring! #DriveMazda @MazdaUSA @DriveShopUSA #Ad

This past Spring, I began to plan for my son's prom night by making a list of all the things that had to be in place in order to make the night perfect for he and his friends.  He had already expressed his desire to have a really cool car to drive all of them to the dance and I knew that I had to come through in order to be the coolest mom at graduation in June.  After careful planning, I was able to secure the Mazda3 Grand Touring as his prom chariot and I knew that he would be thrilled on prom night.    Believe me, it was no easy feat to not reveal this special surprise because I have a terrible track record when it comes to keeping my mouth shut about surprises.  It's not that I can't keep a secret but I just love seeing the look on the faces of my loved ones when I am able to make their dreams come true.  My son had fallen in love with Mazda cars since I reviewed the Mazda6 i Grand Touring in 2016.  I can still recall how his eyes lit up and he told me that he wanted to buy … [Read more...]

Spring Into The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport! #DriveMitsubishi @Mitsucars @DriveShopUSA #Ad

I am so excited that Sunday is the first day of spring!  It just so happens to also be my husband's birthday so it's a special day for two reasons.  This past winter, we had one of the worst blizzards in the history of New York City.  As we were buried in snow, all I could think about was cruising around in the warm weather and enjoying feeling the sun on my face.  Back then, it seemed like sunshine was a distant memory but now that we are headed into spring I am feeling hopeful about finally being able to enjoy some time outdoors.    Recently, I had the opportunity to spend some time driving the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and I realized that it is the perfect car for enjoying during the spring and summer.  Not that it isn't an awesome vehicle to enjoy all year long, but when you are driving a car that boasts an amazing panoramic sunroof, you want to be able to look up through it and see nothing but blue skies.  For those of you … [Read more...]

Be Careful Getting Out Of Your Car!

Many of you who follow me on social media probably already know that my car was struck last week.  While this is not the first time that we have had an accident, the details of this particular one are quite unusual and you will probably be surprised to learn a few things, especially if you are a driver.     It all began last Wednesday, which was the day after the East Coast was slammed with some serious snowfalls.  New York City was no exception and we received over a foot of snow in some areas.  True to his passion as an athlete, my husband expressed that he wanted to take the kids snow tubing since they were lucky enough to be enjoying a snow day, unlike their public school counterparts.     A few hours after they left, my husband called me and I could immediately tell by the sound of his voice that something was seriously wrong.  He proceeded to tell me that he was exiting our parked vehicle on the driver's side when another car struck our car door and almost took Hubby's … [Read more...]

*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of General Motors and Chevrolet. All opinions are 100% mine.    On May, 8th, Chevy introduced the new Impala 2014 which has been completely redesigned.  The iconic sedan is now a combination of efficiency and refinement with many entertainment options as well.    The new Impala contains advanced technology which has never been available in this model such as MyLink.  With an emphasis on comfort and cutting edge technology  including a BOSE sound system, it is like nothing you have ever seen in this Chevy model previously.    We had the pleasure of attending the Chevy Urban Style event at MILK Galleries in order to meet with representatives from General Motors and to get a sneak peak at the new Chevy Impala 2014.  It was an amazing experience to check out the Impala's new features as well as receive demos describing these features from the very designers who came up with them.    The new v-6 Impala has the most … [Read more...]

Family Adventures In The Car! #kiasocialclub

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Kia Motors     When my older son was a baby, he suffered from colic and was constantly crying.  As a new mother, the worst time for me was when I had to drive him anywhere because he would fuss and scream from his carseat in the rear seat.  I would find myself constantly stopping the car and pulling over to comfort and soothe him.     As time went on, I quickly realized that whenever I stopped at a stoplight or for a STOP sign, he would start screaming at the top of his lungs.  It became apparent that driving around was soothing to him somehow and that he mostly became agitated whenever I hit the brakes.     So driving around in the car became a saving grace for me, especially when he was particularly colicky and wouldn't stop crying no matter what I did.  I would load him up in the car and drive around for awhile in order to make him less agitated.  Eventually, as if by magic, he would always stop crying and fall into a peaceful … [Read more...]

How Can You Keep Your Children Entertained On Holiday Road Trips? #KiaHolidays

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Kia Motors     The holidays are coming and many of you are probably planning some road trips that will take you to the homes of friends or family members in order to spend this special time with them.  If you have children like we do, planning for a road trip can become a little more complicated.     After all, children do not have the patience that adults have when it comes to sitting in a car for hours.  As a result, parents have to get creative when it comes to making sure that their children are kept happy and content throughout the long ride.  Being that we have taken many road trips with our children, there are some special steps that we always take to make these rides run a lot more smoothly.     We have found that planning in advance for the music that we play in the car makes a world of difference.  Our boys love to sing along with Christmas Carrols and holiday music so we always pack a variety of CDs that they can sing … [Read more...]

Tips For A Great Road Trip Experience! #KiaSocialClub

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Kia Motors     One of my most memorable road trips took place when we drove across Spain to visit France.  As you can imagine, we were all very excited, after all, it's not every day that one gets to drive across Europe.  Once we arrived at our destination we had a great time but the road trip itself was far from stellar.  There were many things that we could have done differently to make the trip itself a lot more comfortable and we definitely learned a few things about planning for road trips in the future.     First and foremost, we should have come up with a much better plan for having our meals.  Although we packed a few snacks, we were totally unprepared for how much food and drinks we would need throughout the ride.  As a result, we had to stop often to purchase food and this put a huge dent in our vacation budget.  Next time, we will spend the extra money buying a cooler which will keep everything cold and buy easy snacks … [Read more...]
