I am participating in an influencer program on behalf of Claritin®. This program is paid for by the makers of Claritin® and I have received compensation for my participation. All opinions expressed are my own. Seasonal allergies have been the bane of this family's existence for as long as I can remember. Not only did I suffer from them as a child, but now my son suffers from them as well. The problem is that he is also asthmatic, so his asthma is aggravated whenever he gets congested or irritated from his allergies. As a result, we have spent a lot of time in doctor's offices over the years. Thankfully, the Smart Allergy Mom Toolkit® by the makers of Children’s Claritin® has empowered me with the information that I need to get a handle on my son's allergies once and for all! In my son's case, he happens to be allergic to something in every season, so it has been difficult to get his allergies under control in the past. Some of the most … [Read more...]
Dealing With Allergies In The Fall @MinuteClinic #Ad
Over the past two months, my son has been sick on and off with what we though was just a back to school cold. It turns out that the change of seasons has triggered his allergies and caused him to be congested and just generally feeling miserable. Many people don't know that while a cold will typically clear up within 7-10 days, allergy symptoms can linger for weeks or even months. Believe it or not, there are more allergy triggers in the fall. The symptoms for all allergies are the same, regardless of whether they present themselves in the spring or fall. Itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, headache, sinus pressure are some of the more common ones. Allergy triggers that arise during the fall include weed pollens, like ragweed and mold allergies. Certain foods like bananas, melon and zucchini can also be a trigger for those allergic to ragweed. Dust mites are a common allergen during this time as well. When … [Read more...]

Face Your Allergies While Staying Beautiful! #EnfrentaTusAlergias #ZYRTEC #Ad
*I wrote this post as part of my participation in a blog tour for Latina Mom Bloggers on behalf of ZYRTEC® ALLERGY FACE® and received compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. However, all opinions expressed are my own. I normally wear disposable contacts when I am not at home. This past week, my allergies have been wreaking havoc on my eyes and I had to wear my glasses because they were itchy, watery, and scratchy. I am not a happy camper because I love donning my sunglasses during the warm weather months and this whole allergy situation is totally cramping my style. Don't even get me started on some of my other allergy symptoms including constantly sneezing, spontaneous red blotches on my skin, and a post-nasal drip. I mean really, is this really the price that we have to pay to just be able to enjoy a little sun and some warm weather? Well I, for one, am not giving up without a fight and I plan to look beautiful this season despite my allergies! A … [Read more...]
Homemade Remedies And Beauty Tips Passed Down From Abuela! #ALLERGYFACE #ZYRTEC #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zyrtec and Latina Bloggers Connect. All opinions are 100% mine. Growing up, I always struggled with having combination skin which was difficult to control, especially during allergy season. It didn't help that my allergies would act up and contribute to my blotchy appearance by adding red splotches to my skin and puffing up my eyes and nose. As a result, I was always looking for ways to diminish and combat my ALLERGY FACE™. My grandmother raised me and she has always been a big believer in natural and homemade remedies for almost every issue or ailment. She also used these same natural ingredients in her skin care regimen. One particular plant that I remember her using for a wide variety of problems was the Eucalyptus plant that grew right around the area surrounding our land. We would walk together and collect them to use in her many do-it-yourself beauty recipes and remedies. Whenever I had a stuffy … [Read more...]
Children’s Claritin Wants To Put The Spring In Your Step! #ClaritinMoms #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Children's Claritin. All opinions are 100% mine. This past week, I had the opportunity to host a "Spring In Your Step" Moms Meet-Up sponsored by Children's Claritin. It was very easy to encourage moms to attend this meeting because many of them have concerns about how to control their children's seasonal allergies. I'm actually one of those moms myself because my seven year old son suffers from allergy induced asthma. The first thing that we discussed were some possible wellness activities that we could engage our children in to incorporate into their everyday lives. This was a very important topic because we were all very concerned about how to improve the quality of life of our kids despite the fact that they suffer from allergies. Some of the suggestions included drinking plenty of water and fluids to stay hydrated during allergy season and doing cardiovascular exercises to improve breathing. As we all … [Read more...]
Look Good And Feel Good Despite #ALLERGYFACE This Spring! #ZYRTEC #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zyrtec and Latina Bloggers Connect. All opinions are 100% mine. It's ironic that I was going to write this post today because I am suffering terribly from allergies this week. My allergies came on in full force around Wednesday afternoon with a variety of the usual symptoms including a scratchy throat, a stuffy nose, and itchy and watery eyes. Things have only gotten worse and today I feel like my head is literally going to explode with the congestion. Unfortunately, allergy symptoms not only make you feel terrible but they also wreak havoc on your facial appearance by making your eyes glassy, causing your skin to swell and look blotchy, and making the skin under your nose raw and red from continuous nose blowing. As you can see from the photo below, I'm suffering from a full blown case of what is commonly referred to as “ALLERGY FACE™” : Looking my best is very important to me so I am always seeking ways … [Read more...]
Create A Healthier Environment For Your Family With A Fellowes Air Purifier
My family has struggled with allergies and asthma for decades. Not only do my husband and I have asthma on both sides of our families, but our children both have asthma too. While my older son's asthma is moderate and mostly under control, this is not the case with my younger son. The reason for that is that he also has multiple allergies to such things as grass, trees, pollen, and mouse epithelium. Yes, he is allergic to the dander that comes off the fur of mice. I didn't think this was going to be a major concern as we don't have mice in our home, however, our doctor quickly explained to us that mice are everywhere and this dander that comes off of them can be in the air just about anywhere. As a result, we have had to resort to controlling his asthma and allergies with preventative medicines and daily allergy medications. We have tried everything to try to improve the quality of the air in our home to keep him from having allergic episodes and asthma … [Read more...]
