The last few months, I have been working hard to remodel some of the rooms in our home one by one. Although we redid the bathroom a couple of years ago, it is already in need of some new touches to make it a little more comfortable and inviting. After all, it is probably the room in the house that we spend the most time in besides our bedrooms. Growing up, one of the ways that my Grandmother added special touches to the bathroom is by displaying crystal and ceramic figurines on a glass shelf on top of the sink. She would also fill glass bowls over the toilet with potpourri and with scented soaps. As soon as you walked into the bathroom, you would immediately be greeted with these distinctive scents. When I tell you that I am a very busy mom, I am not exaggerating. Most days I am all over the place trying to juggle all of my roles and hoping to get everything accomplished. Between managing a full-time career as an educator, running a household, parenting my two boys, and keeping my husband happy, I barely have a second to myself. During the day, you can find me grading papers during my preparatory periods and working through my lunch. Once I punch out at my day job, I come home to start all over again with supervising homework, making dinner, doing laundry, and cleaning the house. I generally don't go to sleep until well past midnight, even on weekdays. For all of these reasons and more, I look for products to use in our home that aren't going to add to my already heavy workload.
