There is nothing like watching my boys and nephews frolicking in the pool as the Summer draws to a close... As you can see from the expressions on their faces, they do not have a care in the world which is exactly as it should be. I love watching them together and seeing them bond and grow up together. Hopefully, they will take these familial bonds into adulthood and always be this close with one another. I can still recall the way that my cousins and I used to play together back in Spain when we were kids. There are so many fond memories and stories to recant that we never run out of things to talk about when we are together. Unfortunately, that is not very often these days because we live so far apart but, those memories of our childhood, will always be there between us and allow us to have a special love and understanding between us that will forever transcend time and space. Life has its own unique way of reminding us what is really important and family is … [Read more...]
Protect Your Loved Ones From The Sun’s Harsh Effects #NTGBeautifulInsideOut #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Neutrogena and Latina Bloggers Connect. All opinions are 100% mine. Normally I am the mom who prides herself on always being prepared for whatever situation arises regarding my family. You will find everything from band-aids to sunblock in my purse on any given day and my husband and children have come to rely on my constant preparedness. Last week, my family and I took a mini-vacation to a local water resort and, as usual, I packed all of our bags the night before and made sure that we would have all of the clothing and necessities that we required on this excursion. At least I thought I had packed all of the essentials...You see, when we settled into our lounge chairs by the pool, I realized that I had forgotten to pack sunblock. You are probably wondering why I would forget to pack sunblock on a family vacation but there is actually a very good explanation. I expected us to spend all of our time in the … [Read more...]
What Are Some Fun Summer Activities To Keep Kids Engaged? #PCBigDay #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats. All opinions are 100% mine. The Summer can be a great time to spend some quality time with your family and to enjoy some fun outdoor activities with your children. It is important to keep kids engaged during their vacation from school so that they can be productive during their time off. There are many exciting activities that you can do with your kids that can help them to nurture and foster their interests and to teach them how to set and accomplish personal goals. Personally, we love to get outside during the warm weather and have some fun together riding our bikes. It allows all of us to enjoy some fresh air while getting some great exercise. We also take the time to enjoy the scenery and nature around our neighborhood while we ride together and laugh and talk together. I can't think of a better outdoor activity to get our boys up and about during the Summer. Since we have … [Read more...]
Children’s Claritin Wants To Put The Spring In Your Step! #ClaritinMoms #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Children's Claritin. All opinions are 100% mine. This past week, I had the opportunity to host a "Spring In Your Step" Moms Meet-Up sponsored by Children's Claritin. It was very easy to encourage moms to attend this meeting because many of them have concerns about how to control their children's seasonal allergies. I'm actually one of those moms myself because my seven year old son suffers from allergy induced asthma. The first thing that we discussed were some possible wellness activities that we could engage our children in to incorporate into their everyday lives. This was a very important topic because we were all very concerned about how to improve the quality of life of our kids despite the fact that they suffer from allergies. Some of the suggestions included drinking plenty of water and fluids to stay hydrated during allergy season and doing cardiovascular exercises to improve breathing. As we all … [Read more...]
Take Gold Emblem Snacks On Your Family Excursions This Summer! @CVS_Extra #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of CVS/Pharmacy. All opinions are 100% mine. If you are a busy mom like me, you are going to be on-the-go this Summer with your family. It is always fun to plan excursions with my boys and to spend quality time with them since I work full-time as an educator throughout the year. I really get tremendous joy out of finding exciting events and locations to attend with them and we even spend time together grabbing and packing snacks for our special getaways. When we are looking for snacks to take on our adventures, the two major factors that we take into consideration are taste and convenient on-the-go packaging. It's important that we be able to pack, carry, and eat our snacks at the beach, during a ball game, or even in the car on a road trip. It's no secret that my neighborhood CVS/Pharmacy is one of my favorite places to frequent for most of my family's needs including filling prescriptions, picking out just the right … [Read more...]
Host A Summer Olympics Watch Party With Hormel©! #HormelFamily
Many of us would love to catch a plane to London this summer to attend the Summer Olympics. Unfortunately, the reality is that the majority of us will probably end up watching all the excitement of the Olympics from our living rooms. Watching the competition of this historical event is already exciting as it is but it can become even more memorable if you incorporate your own games and yummy snacks into a viewing party. Decorating for your party is a no brainer because you want to demonstrate your patriotism by adopting a red, white, and blue theme. You can even make it a multicultural event by including flags that represent the countries of your guests as part of the decor. This is a great way of getting into the true spirit of the Olympics which is one of international brotherhood. Take advantage of the commercial breaks to engage your guests in a series of Olympic Games of your own! You can take these games outdoors to take full advantage of the gorgeous summer … [Read more...]

Choose Skin Health With Neutrogena®! #ChooseSkinHealth
Although most of us have been touched in our families by a cancer diagnosis at one point or another, it is still devastating to find out that a loved one is ill. This is exactly how we felt a few years ago when we found out that the mother of my son's godmother was diagnosed with Skin Cancer. Finding out about her condition was especially shocking because this woman is especially health conscious and works very hard to take care of her body. She told me that, as a woman of color, she never really worried about protecting her skin from the sun and was shocked to find out that the mark on her leg was actually malignant. She recovered from this brush with cancer, however, it certainly made me more aware of the importance of wearing sunblock and shielding my skin from the sun's harmful rays. Additionally, it made me become more proactive in protecting my children from the sun as well, especially during the warm summer months when we spend a lot of time outdoors. … [Read more...]
