This past week I had the pleasure of interviewing David Soren, the Director/Screenwriter of Turbo the movie. Before our interview, I did a little background research on his accomplishments and I was very impressed to find out that he directed "Merry Madagascar" the first animated holiday television special starring the beloved quartet of Central Park Zoo animals from Madagascar and Madagascar: Escape to Africa. Seeing as how this is one of my sons' favorite animated films, I knew that I was in for a real treat being able to speak to him about what inspired him to create these films. This week, my boys and I had the pleasure of attending the advanced screening of the Turbo Movie with some of my fellow bloggers. Before the screening, bloggers were invited to join 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks Animation at the Turbo 500 Event at the Today Show! Crews worked around the clock to turn the Today plaza into an Indy 500-style racetrack. Matt, Savannah, Natalie and Willie were joined by Ryan Reynolds, star of the upcoming animated film "Turbo," to compete in a snail race. Each competitor played skee ball in order to move their snails up the side of Studio 1A and hopefully win the race! Adventures in Zambezia On Blu-ray and DVD Review And Giveaway
We are huge movie buffs in this house and we especially love to watch animated films. Last night we made some family time to review the film Adventures in Zambezia on Blu-ray and DVD thanks to Sony Pictures. We greatly enjoyed the graphics of the film as well as the theme of the film. The film is set in the bird city of Zambezia on the edge of Victoria Falls. It's a bird paradise where all different types of birds can live in peace without worrying about being attacked by predators. The story centers around the life of a young falcon named Kai who is looking to spread his wings and assert his independence. He ends up learning a lot more than he bargained for when he finds out the true story of his family history and ends up defending the city and being taught how to be part of a community. Disney Pixar’s Brave Debuts November 13th on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack!
We are huge Disney fans in our home and our boys eagerly await their animated movie debuts. Recently, my older son has been hounding me about the release of Disney Pixar's Brave* this month. It excited me that he would be so eager about watching an animated movie about a rebellious and strong female protagonist. As a parent, I work very hard to impart equality between the genders to my children and I love that Disney has created a strong female character in this film. The story is set in the magical Highlands of Scotland and follows the heroic journey of a strong-willed and adventurous female protagonist named Merida. Due to frustrations with predisposed gender expectations, she is determined to forge her own path in live and to venture out on her own to find the true meaning of bravery.
