This post was created in partnership with the Stiletto Blogger Network and Univision. However, all opinions expressed herein are my own. Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember how beloved novelas/soap operas were in our home. My Aunt, who was a teacher, would use the VHS to record her favorite stories during the day when she was at work and unable to watch them. In the evening, my sister and I would sit with her captivated by the intriguing characters and their dramatic lives. This is exactly what initially drew me to watching the telenovela Lo Que La Vida Me Robo on Univision, its colorful protagonists and their complicated drama. My favorite character, and the one whom I can relate to the most, is Montserrat Mendoza. She is the female protagonist who is a a young noble woman, willing to make any sacrifice for her family. Unfortunately, she carries the financial future of her entire family on her shoulders and has to marry into money in order to … [Read more...]

This post was created in partnership with the Stiletto Blogger Network and Univision. However, all opinions expressed herein are my own. If you are like me, you love shows with the reoccurring themes of power, love, family, betrayal and wealth. Add these themes to a novela/soap opera and you have gotten my immediate attention. That is why I just can't stop watching “Lo Que La Vida Me Robó” which is a Mexican novela that is set in a colorful village called Aguazul. Don't just take my word for how juicy their story lines are, go peruse some previews of the show on the dedicated novelas video page. You will be introduced to protagonists who are driven by some of the same hopes and aspirations that you and I have. Just like in real life, these characters are faced with adversity along with the intrusions of controlling parents and competitive friends who revel in stirring up drama, instigating financial hardships and generally making life seem impossible at times. Celebrate The History Of Latino Americans! @FordEspanol @PBS #LatinosPBS #LatinosFord
This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Ford. However, all opinions expressed are my own. Last week, I shared a very special experience with my two sons who are ages seven and ten. We sat down as a family and watched the second episode in the PBS series Latino Americans which kicked off our official celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to spend quality time as a family and to reflect on the many contributions that Latinos have made over the last 500 years. This episode focused on the struggles that Latinos encountered during the World War II years and years that followed the war. Although many Latinos proudly served this country and defended it during the war, they were still discriminated against and had to fight for civil rights during this time. We also learned about how Latinos from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Cuba came to the United States looking for better opportunities for their … [Read more...]
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month As A Family @FordEspanol @PBS #LatinosPBS #LatinosFord
*This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Ford. However, all opinions expressed are my own. Family is very important in the Latino culture. We pride ourselves on always being there for one another and passing down our customs and heritage from one generation to the next. In our home, our sons are blessed to be mixed with Spaniard, Cuban, and Puerto Rican. My husband and I think it is important for both of them to know about their roots so we work very hard to instill these cultural values in them throughout the whole year but especially during Hispanic Heritage Month. All of our grandparents migrated to the United States with the hopes of creating better opportunities for their children and for future generations. My grandparents actually moved to Venezuela from Spain and lived there for many years working and saving money to come to America. They struggled with very little money and two children but managed to persevere due to the promise … [Read more...]
Introduce The Smurfs To Your Children! #Giveaway #Ad
*This post was written by me on behalf of JAKKS Pacific. I received complimentary product samples to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% mine. When I was a little girl, I loved watching The Smurfs on television and playing with their animated figures. As a matter of fact, I can even remember my grandfather buying a Smurfs comic book for me to read on the airplane when I traveled to the United States from Spain at eight years old. These delightful little people hold a very important place in my childhood. As a parent, I really enjoy sharing all of the cartoons and toys from my childhood with my own two sons. It's amazing to see them enjoying themselves as much as I did when I was a kid. This summer, The Smurfs have made their way back into the big screen! To celebrate the film's recent release, JAKKS Pacific has introduced a new lineup of collectible Smurfs figures and plush toys. We love being able to collect our favorite Smurfs characters from The … [Read more...]
Check Out My Tips For Discovering New Artists! #SeHablaMusica #Ad
*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Target. All opinions are 100% mine. Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Target. I've always been a big music fan and I greatly enjoy listening to new artists so that I can support new talent and share great music with all of my friends and family. Most of the time, radio and television stations only play popular music so we end up listening to the same artists and the same songs over and over. Through the years, I've had to get a little creative in order to discover new artists and I'm so glad that thought outside the box because I've heard great music this way. Believe it or not, television shows, and commercials are great resources for discovering new songs. How many times have you heard a commercial jingle or the theme song to one of your favorite songs and wondered who the artist was singing it? This has happened to me many times and it prompted me to conduct a little research in order … [Read more...]
