Power Up Anywhere With Duracell Powermat®! @NeverPowerless #giveaway #Sponsored

*This post was written by me on behalf of Duracell.  I received a product sample to review.  All opinions are 100% mine.     If your family is like our family, you all have a menagerie of electronic devices including smartphones, tablets, and handheld video games that need to constantly be charged.  In our home, I cannot even begin to tell you how many chargers we have gone through in the past year.  It's inevitable that they get lost or damaged through normal wear and tear, especially if they are being used so much and by so many people.     When I was offered the opportunity to review the Duracell PowerMat® I was beyond thrilled at the prospect of being able to have access to a 24-hour power system to charge our devices.  At home it allows me to create a personal power ecosystem by placing the PowerMat® in any room so that I can power up while doing other things around the house.     I'm also excited about being able to power up by simply placing my smartphone on my desk … [Read more...]

Illuminate Your Life With The Energizer Solar 9 LED Lantern! @HomeSafTMatters #Ad

*This post was written by me on behalf of Home Safety Matters.  I received a product sample to review.  All opinions are 100% mine.     One of the things that has always been a problem in the front of my house is the lighting.  We had to upgrade and completely revamp the entire electrical of our home when we first purchased it but we have not been able to update the lighting in the front yard.  The only thing out front is a motion sensor light above the front door which works when it wants to.  This means that we are always looking for creative ways to have light out there when we are sitting out during the warm months.     I was very excited to have the opportunity to review the Energizer® Solar™ 9 LED Lantern from Home Safety Matters.  They pride themselves on offering parents the products that they need to keep their homes safe.  This particular product definitely falls into this category because it safely lights up any space or gathering and is not hot to the touch for big … [Read more...]

Experience The Freshness of Purex Softener Sheets! #PurexInsider #Giveaway

*This post was written by me on behalf of Purex.  As a Purex Insider I receive samples of products to review.  All opinions are 100% mine.     If you have been following this blog for a long time, you know that I have a love/hate relationship with doing laundry.  I love having clean and fresh smelling clothes but I hate having to slave in the laundry room for hours on end.  I'm constantly on the lookout for laundry products that will make my life easier and keep my clothes fresh and clean.  Price is also a deciding factor because, let's face it, most of us are on a budget and want to get the best value for our money.     Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets meet all of this criteria for me because they do a great job keeping our laundry soft and smelling fresh.  I also love that using them helps to decrease static cling on our clothes out of the dryer.  Also, since we have a beautiful but extremely hairy Labrador mix dog, it helps a lot that that they repel pet hair and lint on all … [Read more...]

Veggies Can Be Fun Too! #PlayWithVeggies @BirdsEye @JennetteMcCurdy #Ad

*This post was written by me on behalf of Birds Eye.  All opinions are 100% mine.     As a Working Mom, planning healthy meals and getting my boys to eat more vegetables can sometimes be a challenge because we are always on-the-go.  I was very excited when Birds Eye introduced their 4 House Rules this summer to demonstrate to all kids that eating vegetables can not only be good for them, but it can be fun too!     This week, my boys and I had the opportunity to attend our first event for Birds Eye vegetables.  I was very hopeful that attending this event would arm me with a few tricks to get my sons more excited about eating their veggies on a daily basis.  When we arrived, I immediately noticed the different stations outlining all of the ways that eating vegetables can be fun.     The first station that we visited consisted of allowing the kids to blindfold the parents and feed them various foods containing vegetables.  The parents then had to guess which veggies were … [Read more...]

Back To School With Boys & Girls Clubs Of America! #Tools4BTS @BGCA_Clubs

*This post was written by me on behalf of Boys & Girls Club of America.  All opinions are 100% mine.     This morning, my boys and I had the pleasure of attending the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA's) Wake Up Call Back-to-School Kick Off event in New York City.  The event was supported by JCPenney and aims to motivate kids to be prepared for academic success this school year.     The event took place in Foley Square and we had the opportunity to see legendary basketball player Shaquille O'Neal participating with students in a unique obstacle course.  We stood with students on the sidelines cheering our teams onto victory and, each child who participated in running the obstacle course, received an honorary diploma.  Shaq and Mommy O'Neal also sounded the alarm to signal the start of the Back-to-School season.     My boys also participated in running the obstacle course and it meant a lot to me because I want them to be excited about starting off the school … [Read more...]

We Attended A Blogging Conference In Chicago!

As many of you know, my family and I attended a large blogging conference last week in Chicago.  This is the second time that I attend a conference and I wanted to have my family with me because I just couldn't bear to be away from them for even one minute.  Before the trip, I set personal and professional goals for myself that would keep me focused throughout my stay.     My husband and I drove for almost 14 hours to get there and I cannot even begin to describe the excitement that I felt when we finally arrived in the city of Chicago.  I felt right at home since I live in a big city myself and I found that there were a lot of parallels between New York City and Chicago right away.     I was very fortunate to have had my ticket to the conference sponsored in part by Noodle.org.  Our collaboration was a match made in heaven because of my experience being a NYC public school teacher for the past 13 years and the fact that they are the first education search engine. … [Read more...]

The Joy Of Experiencing Love, Sleep, Or Play #pampersamorsueñosjuegos #Ad

*This sponsored post was written by me on behalf of Latina Mom Bloggers and Pampers.  All opinions are 100% mine.     Ten years ago, when I became a new mother, I had no idea the kind of joy that watching my baby would bring me every single day.  There were many things that I had to learn since this was my first baby and I paid very close attention to him and learned what his needs were.  Unfortunately, my son had very bad Colic as an infant so it sometimes became increasingly difficult to put him to sleep and to feed him because of the discomfort that it caused him.     In order to make his bedtime more comfortable for him, I decided to implement a ritual that I adhered to every evening.  I figured if he had some consistency and if I did some special things with him, he would feel soothed enough to be able to sleep despite his Colic.  So every night I bathed him, massaged his whole body with baby lotion before putting on his pamper, and I played classical music.  For some … [Read more...]

What Is The Key To Our Long And Happy Marriage? #SwifferEffect #Ad

*This sponsored post was written by me on behalf of Swiffer.  All opinions are 100% mine.     Many people often ask my husband and I what the key to our long and happy marriage is.  You see, we have been married for fourteen years this November and we really do have a great marriage.  I guess most are surprised that a marriage could last this long considering what the rate of divorce is in this country.     When I sit down to think about what makes our marriage so great there are many things that come to mind that make me smile about our relationship.  First and foremost, it's not a perfect one and that really is an important ingredient in this recipe for joy.  Anyone who tells you they have the perfect union is not being totally honest.  Accepting one another with all of our flaws is important and allows us to be honest with one another.     The next thing that has contributed to the longevity of our marriage is the fact that we have very open communication.  My husband and I … [Read more...]
