Frozen Hot Cocoa Spoons

My husband just went out to get breakfast and left the front door open when he came back in to get his car keys.  I can't even begin to describe to you guys how cold it has gotten in New York City.  I've never been a big fan of the cold weather but I do love certain things about this season.  Aside from being able to wear tights and boots, I also enjoy winter recipes and just about anything that will warm me up when I get in from the cold outdoors.     One of my favorite winter treats to enjoy are hot cocoa spoons.  They are perfect for dipping in hot chocolate or even in a hot cup of milk.  You can make them in white or milk chocolate and can even decorate them and wrap them to give away during the holidays.  Since I love Frozen so much, I thought this would be a great theme for my hot cocoa spoons this year.  Check it out! Survive Spending The Holidays With Family! #EnjoyTheGo @Charmin #Ad

This Sunday, my entire family will be descending upon our home like a plague of locusts so that we can all celebrate Christmas together.  Don't get me wrong, we all really love each other but we are all also aware that we can get on each other's nerves when we are forced to spend a significant amount of time together.  I'm sure many of you feel the same way about spending the holidays with your family.  You can't live with 'em, and you can't live without 'em!     In our home, our bathroom has become a sort of sanctuary for everyone to get a little breathing room while the rest of the family continues to annoy each other in the living room.  While pulling off a successful holiday gathering can be rewarding, sometimes the only way to recharge your batteries is to hide out in the bathroom and get some much needed peace and quiet.  Whether it be scented candles, reading material, or five-minutes of silence, I'm a firm believer that Charmin … [Read more...]

Be Ready For Any Emergency! @SSIGuardian #StopTheBleed #Ad

When it comes to reacting during an emergency, every second counts.  This is especially true when you suddenly have to save someone's life.  Believe me, as a mother of sons who play sports, I have had to deal with my share of injuries and emergencies.  Having the right tools can make bleeding control more effective.     Last year, my older son sustained a serious eye injury during one of his basketball games and everyone was unprepared.  The coach didn't even have ice packs in his duffel bag because he had forgotten them at home.  We ended up having to rush our son to urgent care and it took the entire summer, along with many doctor's appointments to make sure his eye healed properly.  In some injury cases, time is of the essence and you cannot afford to be unprepared, especially when there is bleeding involved.     Stop the Bleed kits include pressure dressings, gauze bandages, tourniquets, and other tools, along with … [Read more...]

Safely Manage Your Child’s Screen Time This Holiday Season! @Screentimelabs #Ad

With the holidays approaching, many kids will be receiving electronic devices that will likely increase their daily screen time.  If you are the kind of parent that I am, you want to be able to manage that time safely and productively.       Although we want to encourage our children to be technologically savvy, there are times when it is important to limit how much time they spend on these devices.  Additionally, monitoring their screen time is a great way to make sure that they are visiting child-friendly websites and safely interacting with others online.     The Screen Time app provides concerned parents like me with the management tools to proactively supervise my sons' time on their devices.  It is available for both iOS and Android users and it empowers parents be more in control of how much time their children spend online.       Some of the app's features that I really love are the fact that it allows me … [Read more...]
