Ever since my boys were little, I have encouraged them to always dream big and reach for the stars. During my childhood, I was very lucky that I had my mother and grandmother to remind me to set goals and to work hard to accomplish those goals. As a mother, I have always wanted to provide my sons with this same kind of inspiration that I received and motivate them to never be afraid to keep their eyes on the prize.
Currently, my sons are very adamant about what their future dreams are. My eleven-year old wants to be a professional basketball player and he keeps reminding me that he is going to take good care of me when he grows up. On the other hand, my eight-year old has an angelic voice and has decided that he is going to be a professional singer and a superhero.
As you can see from his vision board, he is pretty set on becoming a superhero. I always support them in their future dreams but I also make sure that I remind them daily how important it is to do well in school and how having an education will help them reach these dreams.
This evening, we are watching Disney’s Sleeping Beauty together and it is the perfect film to teach my boys that dreams can come true! Puedes realizar tus sueños! The Disney Ultimate Fairy Tale Sleeping Beauty in Diamond Edition Blu-ray™ is available for the first time ever on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere. Against all odds, Aurora found her true love and lived happily ever after. It is so important to teach our children that they too can have their dreams come true and enjoy happy endings.
My niño’s favorite characters were the Fairies because they “have magic and they are really funny.” He also pointed out that even though they argue, they still love each other like he and his older brother. The important thing is that he understands that having a supportive familia will definitely help him make all his dreams come true!
