Lately I’ve been struggling with balancing the amount of time that my children spend on their electronic devices. On one hand, I want them to be technologically savvy and able to compete in today’s modern technological times. On the other hand, I don’t want them to become consumed with spending time on their tablets playing games that don’t always have a significant educational value. I was very excited when I learned that School Zone, a trusted educational workbook and flash card company that I have know for years as an educator, has now taken all their educational experience and trusted content and created a kids’ tablet called Little Scholar™.
Little Scholar™ features and A+ app that allows parents to track their child’s academic progress and identify how much time their child has spent on each individual topic or curriculum area. Parents can even use an App Management Tool to choose from the preloaded 200 apps, videos, songs and e-books that are active on Little Scholar, so the can tailor the content to fit the learning needs of their children. The apps are valued at nearly $400 worth FREE content. There’s no need to buy additional apps although they are available should you decide to expand your child’s progress.
This is definitely what I have been looking for to immerse my boys in technology that allows them to be productive and that has educational value. I’m secure now in knowing that my son spends time on this tablet actually learning and having a great time doing so! The entire time he is engaged with his Little Scholar he is actually learning reading, spelling, math, and other essential skills that he will need in order to excel in the third grade next year.
My son really enjoyed watching Charlie & Company, a new educational video series with live action and animation. It stars Charlie the Golden Retriever and his best friend, Miss Ellie, who embark on educational adventures. The show features performances and original music by Brian Vander Ark of The Verve Pipe. He also loved showing his creativity by using the rear- and front-facing camera. The tablet allows him to play with silly special effects and save pictures to his own personal gallery.
Little Scholar™ is recommended for kids ages 3-7 and features an 8-inch screen and runs on a Google Android 4.2.2 operating system. My son just turned eight and the content on the tablet was even appropriate for his learning needs. It is available now and has an MSRP of $149.99-199.99. It will be available at ToysRUs this fall. The best part is that our Sponsor has given us a Little Scholar Tablet to give away to one of you for your child to learn from!
Let’s Discuss: How do you think the Little Scholar™ Tablet will help to prepare your child for back to school?

The Scholar Tablet will help my grandchild to do better by being more interested in school activities. As we know, schools are headed into using mostly technological tools. By the time these children get to high school, they will probably use a higher level tablet. I want my grandchild to have the opportunity to start at a young age and make learning fun!! Thank you!!
Finally a tablet that parents don’t have to worry about what their children are doing! I love that this company realized that the kids of today are going to be on electronics one way or another and came up with a solution!
My little guy is already really behind in school. This sounds like something that would be beneficial in helping him catch up with everything. I love that parents can keep track of them too! Love it!

This could help my son learning his colors, shapes, reading, math. I am impressed with this tablet. The Little Scholar Tablet could prepare him for technology in the future! He can even pass it down to little brother in a couple years.
This would totally help my girls. I find that they learn easily when fun is involve. They don’t realize they are learning which is the greatest.
with all of the technology everywhere today it is just as important to have children learn before and outside of the classroom as it is to still maintain a limit to the time spent on such devices.
I think this would be great for my son because it would make learning fun. He loves to imitate me, so I know he would like to have his own tablet like mommy.

I think this tablet would benefit my great nephew that lives with me and has just started Kindergarten. It would help him with learning everything while he is having fun with it. I love educational toys and gadgets. Everything is tech now and this would be a great headstart for a child.

This would be awesome for my son. I love that it is all educational. It is great for trips in the car.
I believe the tablet will make my nephew interested in learning through interactive games. I believe kids do better academically when you make learning fun instead of just boring and tedious to them. By learning how to solve math problems, read, and pronounce words through interactive games I believe kids will do better in school by applying the abilities they learned from the tablet to challenges in school.
I believe that it will help her with her reading, no doubt there. She will also be able to do the other apps which will sharpen her skills in things like phonics and math. Of course, with homeschooling, this would be a wonderful tool for her.
