Now that my older son is eleven, I have been stressing to him the importance of taking care of his skin. Both his father and I have always had combination skin with some oily patches so I understand how the changes that take place with the onset of puberty can cause some unwelcome changes in one’s skin. Although I feel like he has been listening to me and has been trying to wash his face more often and take better care of his skin, I think that having products that cater to his tween needs will help a lot more.
Most teens and tweens across the country are currently preparing for back to school and Ottilie & Lulu is there to help during this important time for both kids and parents. Their products make mornings easier by making skin care easy and fast which is a huge plus for this Working Mom who barely has any time to get herself ready for work after making sure her kids are ready for school.
Tween boys and girls are developing at a much faster rate these days than we did years ago. During this time, acne and skin conditions can cause this turbulent hormonal time to be even more daunting. By teaching tweens to take care of their skin and follow a skin care regimen, we are empowering them not only to be in control of their personal hygiene but also their self-esteem and confidence.
As a mom, I love that each Ottilie & Lulu product is dermatologist-approved and allergy-tested, and contains only natural ingredients, which won’t harm or damage the sensitive skin of young boys and girls. They’re also full of antioxidants, botanicals and vitamins to keep skin healthy and glowing. The best part is that they are geared towards tweens and teens specifically!
Let’s Discuss: How do you encourage your teen or tween to care for their skin on a daily basis?

My daughter has acne and she feel so bad, all the time she wash her face but it’s hard.
to eliminate acne, I use at night and a facial cleanser created based on benzoyl peroxide and by morning a base with salicylic acid from oriflame
I have never heard of this line. With a little sister getting into that puberty stage right now something like this would be perfect. Thanks for sharing!
My sister has bad acne, as did I when I was a teen. So my advice to her is to wash your face, but don’t over wash, because that causes a whole other set of problems.
Know what I’m getting my mom for her birthday now. Thanks!
I encourage my tween daughter to wash her face twice a day with a gentle cleanser, then use an astringent and then moisturize. She has breakouts but this helps to keep breakouts at bay. I also encourage her to drink more water to flush out her system.
My daughter is very good about taking care of her skin. She washes her face in the morning and at night. When her face breaks out, we change her pillow case daily.
Honestly I make my kids wash with hot water, clean with alcohol and then rinse with cold water. Then a moisturizer to counter the alcohol wipes. This is cool they make products for tweens, you don’t see that very often!
We purchased some scrubs for our pre-teen, but they only work sometimes. Would love to try something new!
Sometimes it can be a challenge to get my son to take a shower most days anyway, and skin care is not on the top of his priority list. However, I make sure to get him gentle cleansers (for sensitive skin), and have him use products that won’t irritate his skin. As a family, we have really sensitive skin so we’re always on the lookout for good products that will do the job and not cause any rashes!
Vivo en constante lucha para que mi hija se lavé su cara en la mañana y en la noche y para que se quite el poco maquillaje que se aplica. Le explico lo importante de cuidar su rostro desde niña.
I always tell my sister that she need to ways her face at least once a day, those products look great, I have to check them out 🙂
I tell my son to wash his face twice a day and currently he’s using a acne cleanser. Looking forward to trying these products out
I do not have a teen or tween yet but when I did.. I constantly preached wash your body and wear clean socks and clothes! It’s sad you have to remind them to wear clean clothes.
I have all boys and my 10 year old barely likes to take a shower, so I figure as long as he is clean – I am on the right track LOL
I remind my tween daughter to set aside time to use a cleansing wipe on her face in the morning and to do a more through cleaning at night. With me and a teen daughter in the house, there is no shortage of product, but I’d love to win this just for my 11 yr. old. Thanks for the chance.
I don’t have a teen/tween yet, but when I was a teen/tween my mom used to tell me to stay away from greasy/fried foods.
I have to remind son everyday to wash his face now that he is getting older.
Tween and Teen skin is so tricky. The girls that lived next door to us at our old house used this brand and really liked it. Their mom raved about how it kept their skin looking good and highly recommended it.
I don’t have a tween, but my 8 year old could benefit from this. He has little acnes showing up already and I have to keep on him about washing his face really good.
I encourage my daughter to remove all make up and wash her face before bed.
It’s great that they make products geared specifically toward tweens. Their needs are definitely different.
This looks like a great product for teens. Thanks for sharing!
Love that this is an all natural product. My sons are at this age, too, and I’m also encouraging good skin care habits. Thanks for sharing!
I remind my son every morning that he is growing and needs to do more self care.

Skin plays are really important role in overall personality of an individual. Good skin is a gift of God and it is crucial to take care of this gift.
I encourage by participating. We do it together in the mornings.
My two oldest sons are starting to need to take care of their faces. I try to tell them to wash their faces every morning and every night when they brush their teeth, but the often forget. Maybe with specific products just for them they will want to take care of their skin.
I encourage her by getting her own face wash for her.
I always let them pick out the cleanser that they want.
I encourage her to use a mild soap morning and night. I also change the pillow cases frequently and buy good quality makeup Rosanne
I wish I had something like this when I was a tween. I broke out after 5th grade & it wasn’t pretty…
I am always up for trying these cute new products for teens and tweens. My girls like testing them out. I stock the bathroom with lots of options for cleaning their faces. I model good clean skin habits and always ways my face before bed and in the morning too. I also give them frequent reminders to clean their skin, birth their hair and brush their teeth. It’s all part of good grooming.
You are right tweens are developing quicker, I can hardly keep up with mine, and these products look perfect. Thanks for the great lead to a product I never knew about!
I encourage my teen by reminding her daily to wash her face. That is especially true at bed time. She’s great about it if she has makeup on, not so great if she doesn’t.
Oh this is a good idea. I need to try something different for my teen.
It’s always important to remind them to wash their face, acne isn’t fun to have.
This is cool. I proudly had two to zero acne when I was a tween, but now that I’m a young adult, it’s like the revenge of the skin problems. I’d love to try this for myself
I always make sure the girls are washing faces before going to bed and to wear a moisturizer with SPF.
I only let kiddo use natural skin care, he’s 16 now. He plays sports all year long and with all the sweating I knew it was very important to get him into a skincare routine.
I remind daughters everyday to wash their face and moisturize.
I will be sharing with my friends and their daughters. Well especially for my teenager. Thanks for sharing!!!
i make sure to remind my daughter to wash her face and we are big on sun screen in our house.
I’ve bought her some scrub and soap to use. It’s an uphill battle for sure.
My girls watch me close. They know it is important so they do it as well.
I have a 13 & and 11 yr daughters. I try to encourage them to wash their faces in the morning when they wake up and prepare for the day. Also when they prepare for bed.So far I haven’t bought anything special just for them. After reading this Review, I am thinking I ought to look into something formulated special for them!
we make good hygiene a habit. It is extremely important in our home to keep clean and look nice
They are at the age that they do not need encouragement – they want to take care of themselves vs. when they were smaller and I had to get after them to do so. I do try to buy products they need and show them how to use them
I encourage them to use SPF everyday and to eat right-the rest takes care of itself

I always make sure the girls are washing their faces before going to bed and to wear a moisturizer with SPF during the day
I only let my little on use natural products on his skin and practice good hygiene habits

I remind my daughter to wash her face in the morning and evening.
He uses wipes in the morning, neutrogina soap at night and then Clearasil for pimples.
I am still learning how to get my tweener to wash his face on a regular basis. I am hoping that acne will be its own best preventative medicine. I think this Ottilie & lulu will be a great product for him.
Acne is a good enough reminder!
i make sure she knows to wash her face every morning and night and always use sunscreen
I encourage her not to sleep in any make up.. Always a clean face.
