Although Summer Vacation began this past week here in New York City, parenting is a 24/7 job! That is why taking time out for yourself helps keep you strong for your family. This month I’m switching gears and making the focus some time to myself for a change.
Most of my favorite shows are on hiatus, but Netflix has a selection of titles to get me through the summer months. And yes, that includes all-new episodes of some of my favorite Netflix originals — Orange Is the New Black season 2 launched June 6th! I plan on waiting until the kids are asleep for the night and then relaxing with one of my favorite new shows.

Of course, my relaxing evening would not be complete without the perfect snack to tie into my theme of personal indulgence. It doesn’t take many episodes of Scandal to realize main gladiator, Olivia Pope, consumes ridiculous amounts of red wine and big bowls of popcorn after a long day.
Like Olivia, I know you are probably the “fixer” in your family too just like I am. We can all snack like Scandal Gladiators by preparing a Red Wine Spritzer and some Pizza Popcorn created by cookbook whisperer Andrea Lynn! You can check out her recipes for both of these treats HERE!
