We Made Unforgettable Family Memories At Morey’s Piers! #MoreysPiers @MoreysPiers #Sponsored

I’m sure many of you have been following our family adventures recently on social media.  We had the opportunity to visit the Jersey Shore last weekend to enjoy a weekend family vacation at Morey’s Piers.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with the famous Morey’s Piers, it is located in Wildwood, New Jersey and boasts a 1.8 mile boardwalk along with some amazing beachfront water parks.

We arrived Friday evening and checked into the Starlux Hotel.  As soon as we drove up, I immediately liked its retro feel.  It’s a boutique hotel with an all glass lobby and lounge which opens into the pool promenade and has the boardwalk just a walking distance away.  We were treated to a continental breakfast every morning for the duration of our stay and stayed in one of their lovely Doo Wop inspired suites complete with a lava lamp in the living room!  It’s important to plan ahead for the hotel that you will be staying in because we did notice that some of the neighboring hotels catered to more of a college crowd and were not as family-friendly as the Starlux.

I liked that the room was clean and that the cleaning staff paid special attention to us throughout our stay.  They provided extra towels and toiletries and even made towel animals to make us feel luxurious.  Our boys really loved the heated outdoor pool and enjoyed taking advantage of the boogie boards and life jackets that were available for the use of all guests.  This made me very happy because I was able to sit poolside and enjoy myself without worrying whether the kids were safe in the pool or not.

Saturday morning we made our way to the Ocean Oasis Water Park which is located at Surfside Pier.  We were so excited to enjoy some water fun and I really liked that they had water rides to accommodate the entire family.  It was very relaxing to water tube around the Lazy River attraction and there were trained lifeguards at every station ready with full water safety equipment should the need arise.

That afternoon, we all headed to Adventure Pier so my eight year old son could take an art class at the artBOX which is an art studio located right off the boardwalk that exhibits art and sculptures made by local artists.  The kids had the opportunity to make their own paper lanterns that really light up.  My son loved his lantern and will be displaying it in his bedroom since we are redecorating it over the Summer.

There is nothing like enjoying fresh seafood at the Jersey Shore and we had the chance to sample some of the local fare at Joe’s Fish Co. and at the Stubborn Bros. Beach Bar and Grill.  Not only was all the food fresh and delicious, but the service was great too.  All of our servers and bartenders introduced themselves to us by their first name and were very pleasant towards the kids.  Between all the fresh seafood and the delicious treats sold along the boardwalk, there is something delectable for everyone to enjoy!

As many of you know, I am a Survivor and I take medication that causes me to have severe bone pain.  Due to this, it is sometimes difficult for me to walk long distances or to stand for long periods of time without having pain.  It was easy for me to make arrangements to get around this weekend due to my disability.  The Starlux Hotel had handicapped parking which allowed us to always have parking readily available.

Additionally, every pier also had handicapped parking spots on the street and access from street parking.  Since I was unable to walk the full stretch of the boardwalk, we were able to drive to each pier and enjoy each one individually.  There is also a tramcar that goes up and down the boardwalk but it does cost $3 per person each way which can be expensive.

Sunday afternoon, before we left, my husband participated in the annual Morey’s Piers Curley’s Fries Eating Contest which was held at Joe’s Fish Co.  The winning prize for amateurs was $500 and the prize for professionals was $1000.  Although Hubby did not win, he did manage to eat over a pound of Curley’s Fries and he had a great time doing so.  It was a blast cheering him and all the other contestants on as they filled their faces with fries!

We loved our weekend getaway!  Thank you to Morey’s Piers and the rest of the vendors who sponsored our stay there during Father’s Day weekend.  As soon as we returned, I called my siblings to talk to them about planning a big family trip to Morey’s Piers.  I can’t go back to enjoy some fun in the sun and to get to see and experience all of the attractions that we didn’t have time to enjoy the first time.  See you soon!

Let’s Discuss:  What attractions do you think your family would enjoy the most at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey?
