Let me bring you back to my childhood in Spain during the early nineteen eighties…There was nothing better than sitting around the television surrounded by family and watching Fútbol.  Everyone just seemed to be happier during this time and nothing else was as important as celebrating that moment with loved ones and cheering on our favorite teams.  I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that soccer is a huge sport in Spain and other Hispanic countries.

Now that I have my own family, sharing these time honored cultural traditions with our sons is very important to my husband and I.  After all, they can’t know where they are going if they don’t know where they came from.  As a result, getting together to honor our national pride and our love of fútbol as a family is pretty high on our list of priorities.

This past week, my sons have been spending a lot of time with my father, and their grandfather, watching the big fútbol game this Summer.  It has really been a joy to see them laughing and screaming out “GOOOOOOOOOOL!” along with my Dad. I can tell that they are enjoying themselves as much as I used to when I was a young girl in Spain and I watched soccer with my grandfather and the rest of the family.  As you can tell from my son’s jersey below, we root for my home country’s team!

Pampers is bringing Latino families and their babies together to honor these very important aspects of their lives: national pride and a love of fútbol.  They have launched the “Mi Equipo, Mi Herencia” Virtual Stadium app and sweepstakes on the Pampers Latino Facebook page, to celebrate these integral parts of Latino life in an unforgettable way.

From May 22nd through July 15th, you can log on to the Pampers Latino Facebook page and participate in the “Mi Equipo, Mi Herencia” app and sweepstakes. By uploading and customizing photos of your little fan in the Pampers Virtual Stadium, you will be entered to win a year’s supply of Pampers and wipes!

I invite you and your baby to be part of a once in a lifetime opportunity.  This is the perfect opportunity for you to impart your love of your country and your love of soccer to your own children.  You will then be able to enjoy the game with them for years to come!  All that and the chance of winning a year of FREE Pampers wipes and diapers sounds like a win-win situation to me!

Let’s Discuss:  How do you celebrate your love of fútbol and national pride?
