When I think back to my childhood and the desserts that I would enjoy with my parents and my siblings, one of the treats that always comes to mind is Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake.  I remember my father telling us that when our grandmother first came from Spain to the United States, this pound cake was one of the first things that she fell in love with from this new country.  She loved enjoying a hot cup of coffee with a delicious slice of what she referred to as “Heaven.”

As we became teenagers, we enjoyed pairing our pound cake with a variety of toppings depending on what we were craving at that particular moment.  I can recall eating my Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake topped with ice cream, cookie crumbs, whipped cream, and even slathered in peanut butter and jelly.  It seemed as if the possibilities were endless with regards to the many wonderful ways to enjoy this delicious treat.

Now that I am an adult, I still enjoy eating Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake but I like to top it with healthier ingredients.  This is where the idea for my Creamy Fruit Topped Pound Cake recipe came from.  I figured out that pound cake and fresh fruit are a delicious combination.  By adding some cream frosting to the mix, I think I have stumbled on one of the most decadent desserts that you will ever enjoy in your lifetime.  I’m excited to be sharing this quick and easy recipe with all of you today!

I love their pound cake – it is a bit addicting though. I always pair it with fruit, never thought to use frosting on it. My youngest would love for me to do that!
