Let’s be honest, if you are a busy mom like I am, you don’t have a lot of time to prepare breakfast in the morning. Between getting the kids ready for school, feeding the dog and getting myself ready for work there just isn’t a lot of time to cook a hot breakfast.
As a result, I am always looking for easy breakfast options to make sure that my family’s day starts off with the proper nutrition. One of our favorite meals for breakfast is an omelette because you can fill it with all of your favorite ingredients. Thanks to Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles and some resourcefulness on my part, I think I have finally figured out how to make a delicious omelette for moms on-the-go!
SWISS SAUSAGE OMELETTE
Ingredients:
Jimmy Dean fully cooked sausage crumbles
100% liquid egg whites
Sliced Swiss cheese
Butter
RECIPE:
- Put butter into heated frying pan until it melts and evenly spread the butter around the pan.
- Pour liquid egg whites into the pan and let cook until there is no more liquid left.
- Flip omelette and make sure both sides are golden brown.
- Sprinkle Jimmy Dean fully cooked sausage crumbles on one side of the omelette and lay Swiss cheese slices on top of the sausage crumbles.
- Let ingredients cook until cheese is melted and then fold omelette over into a half-moon.
This Swiss Sausage Omelette will only take you minutes to make and will allow you to send your entire family out, after eating a hearty breakfast, to start their day! We are big fans of sausage in my house. These look great! I think I’m going to have to get some and try them out on pizza!
I’d probably go with omelettes, too. Those go over well in my house and I guarantee my kids would love these.
I have been seeing a lot of this Jimmy Dean Sausage, but still haven’t tried it. Looks so easy compared to cooking your own from scratch.
This looks delicious. I never thought of buying crumbles for use in recipes. I like that the sausage is pre-cooked, because I’m always afraid I’ll undercook it.

My boys are Jimmy Deans boys. On weekdays it is the only thing I can get my oldest son to eat for breakfast.
I would use them like you did, I think, in an omelet. They would be great for a nice skillet breakfast too, or even biscuits and gravy!

I just made an omelet the other day, and used cheddar. I think I would like to try making my next one with Swiss though. And Jimmy Dean sausage of course!
I have always used cheddar, but my husband makes THE best omelettes with pepperjack.
So many yummy recipes comes to mind! I did a Queson Fundido the other night and it asked for sausages as one of the main ingredients. I bet it would have been great with the Jimmy Dean crumbles.

Your omelettes look fantastic. This product would be such a huge time saver for a busy mom or groggy chef. I am terrible at mornings. I rely on Jimmy Dean to get me through them quite often. They really do make some of the highest quality products.
