Introducing Your New Robot Friend ROMO! @Romotive #Ad

My sons are both very techie.  As a matter of fact, we sometimes like to joke around that they are more technologically advanced than my husband is.  You see, Hubby always has to go to them to help him with his own electronic devices.

Although we joke about this, I like the fact that they are in step with modern times.  In this fast-paced world that we live in, it’s important for kids to be able to compete technologically.

I knew that they would both love to meet and program ROMO by Romotive Inc.  It is a friendly robot that was created to teach kids the basics of computer programming and robotics through engaging them in adventurous challenges.

The way ROMO works is that kids can download his app from the App Store and explore the galaxy with him as they complete missions to unlock his abilities and features.

Here are some of ROMO’s features:

  • Face detection-ROMO can track and follow your face.
  • Path tracking-ROMO can detect and follow tracks and paths that you create for him.
  • Wi-Fi Control-Control ROMO using any IOS device over a Wi-Fi network.
  • Learn as you play-Learn ROMO’s story as you complete missions that teach kids the basics of computer programming.
  • Object follow-ROMO can learn to magically follow certain objects such as following a brightly-colored ball that you threw across the room.

My sons were absolutely captivated with ROMO as they learned how to program their own robot.  It was easy to download the App and to follow the directions and to begin enjoying ROMO right away.  All we had to do was dock our smart phone into the rover base and use the simple in-app interface to begin to program him.  I was thrilled to see both boys captivated by ROMO’s abilities.

Introduce your kids to their very own ROMO, robot friend, by liking Romotive on Facebook and Twitter.  Your kids will enjoy becoming mini computer programmers just like my sons did.  The added bonus is that they will also be making a new friend!

Let’s Discuss:  Why do you think kids are more technologically advanced than their parents?

This is definitely something that would be right up my nine year old’s alley. He is always asking me how things work and I can’t always answer him.

  2. Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says

My friend has this and her girls have a hoot with it. They always feel bad when he’s upset!

  3. Veronica Solomon says

This looks like an awesome gadget! I coked totally see my kids wanting this

  4. amanda ripsam says

Forget the hubby and kids I want that. My 6 year old would fight me over this.

  5. Amanda Her says

That is so cool! I love how it allows kids to program their own robot – it’s good to get their wheels turning.

  6. April Mims says

Kids are definitely more technologically advanced since they have had all this stuff their entire lives. My kids can’t imagine a time without computers or the internet!

  7. How cool is this?! What a wonderful product. I think technology will have more of an impact on future generations; it’s important to be exposed at an early age.

  8. My daughter would love this little guy!! I think she is probably better at technology than I am and she is 5… so, I understand your husband’s pain!

  9. Rebecca Bryant says

My son would love this little guy. He is into this kind of stuff.

  10. ashley b says

This would be something my son would absolutely love! He is very techy and hands on.

  11. Freaking amazing!!! The Romo robot is pretty cool!! My mother in law would have a panic attack with all this technology overload heheh. My son ass been around computers since birth. I got my first iphone when he was about 1 year old and he was the one showing me how to use the speak mode lol It’s a bit scary but at the same time, that’s the norm now. Kids these days are more technologically more advanced then us because they have been around it from birth.

  12. My daughter has a fascination with talking to Siri on our apple devices. I know she would get a kick out of Romo! I am going to have to get her this app!

  13. mail4rosey says

That’s pretty awesome. I like it for many reasons, but you cannot deny that it’s cute! 🙂

  14. Chavonne H says

Wow, I love the Romo, I want one! The path tracking looks like a lot of fun and I like the cute expressions. Kids today have so many more electronic devices to use than their parents had so it’s natural they would be more knowledgeable. I know my mom is still having trouble just using the computer after all these years and I’m a pro.

  15. That’s so cool! No kids here yet, but our little cousins are crazy smart when they get anywhere near one of our tablets. They know how to work it instantly. Amazing.

  16. If I was still a kid, I’d definitely cry out to my mom to get me these – lol. I have a thing for these awesome kind of gadget for some reason, haha! Very cute too.

  17. JadeLouise Designs says

That is such a fun robot! My kids would have a lot of fun with this little guy. They are really into science and engineering stuff and how things work. This would be a lot of fun.

  18. My kids need this! I think kids today can’t imagine a world without technology and having using it since they were small.

  19. My son would love this. He is more “techie” than anyone else in our family.

  20. This sounds such fun – I love all thing tech and as a kid I could imagine having had hours of fun with this 🙂 x

  21. Kudos to your kids for being so active with technology. I guess most kids are now days but I still think it is wonderful. You have to be to stay in touch and on top. This app looks like it would be very helpful and fun at the same time.

  22. this seems like a great way to help keep the kids busy and allow them to learn about technology besides just how to use it and play games.

  23. angelgenius27 says

This is neat! I think that kids are more techie nowadays because they’re born into it I remember the giant cellphones lol the first time i saw a smart phone i thought to myself I can’t imagine what they will come up with in 10 yrs from now

  24. Kay Adeola says

I love this idea,My oldest would love something like this.I will have to see if i can get it over here.

  25. What a neat idea this is! It allows my kids to keep busy and learn at the same time instead of sitting in front of the TV

  26. Haha, what a cute idea. I was thinking of getting Zoomer, but this is cute too.

  27. That’s so cute! I’ve never seen or heard of them before. That’s really cool

  30. That is so neat! What a great “techie” toy!!

  31. This sounds like a very fun app. I might even try it for myself. I know some programming but it would be fun to know a little more.

  32. Ashley Wintters says
