Many of you are probably unaware that my mother is half-Italian. Her father’s side of the family was from Naples, Italy and she can recall her paternal grandmother telling her stories about the old country when she was a little girl. Although I was raised in Spain since my father is from there, there are certain things that I have learned from my Mom about Italian culture. Certainly, cooking and food is an important part of being from any Italian family.
A few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to review Pasta Chips and I was intrigued because I know that Italian food is made with love and packed full of delicious flavors. The idea for creating these chips was born in the hills of Tuscany at a small, authentic Osteria.
They pride themselves on creating real Italian food that contains the passion that we have all come to know from Italy. These chips are made with semolina flour and Italian herbs and garnished with a variety of seasonings that are rooted in regional favorites and part of centuries’ old traditions of culture and living.
When the Pasta Chips first arrived at our home, we immediately opened the Garlic Olive Oil flavor first. They were absolutely delicious and we just could not put them down. Not only were they packed with flavor, but they also had a crisp texture that made them easy to eat one after the other.
Just to give you an idea of how good they were, by the time I realized that I hadn’t taken any photos of the actual Pasta Chips in the bag, we had gone through all of the bags already. Between the four of us, we gobbled them all right up!
Pasta Chips come in 5 flavor packed varieties: Spicy Tomato Herb, Sea Salt, Marinara, Alfredo and Garlic Olive Oil. These sound yummy!! I think I’d go for the marinara flavor! A perfect snack!
Spicy Tomato Herb sounds fabulous. These are so unique! I would absolutely love to try them.
I would love to try the spicy tomato herb. I have to have a slice of tomato on just about everything I eat and I love spicy flavors.
I think I would like to try the Marinara. I love homemade gravy (as they called it in Dobbs Ferry where I grew up with half the population Italian) and haven’t had it in a very long time.
