I’m sure I’ve shared with you guys many times how my boys manage to play with every single box that comes to our home. You would think that they would be very busy playing with all of the toys that they have but, believe it or not, they are obsessed with taking boxes that come in the mail and creating forts and tents which they use to pretend play in the middle of our living room. When I was given the opportunity to review the 1965 VW Camper Van Play Tent by The Monster Factory, I knew that this was the perfect opportunity to stimulate their imaginations and to give them an indoor tent that they could really enjoy inside the house.
The first thing that my husband and I appreciated about this tent is how easy it was to assemble. My husband actually took the time to put it together right before going to work and it literally took him all of five minutes to read the instructions and put it up. It comes with with free standing poles which are bungee corded with quality click connectors so it is idiot-proof. Not that Hubby is an idiot of course but he has been known to experience technical difficulties when assembling things for the kids in the past. This was not the case with this tent, it was a breeze to put together as you can see from the video below…
The VW Camper Van Play Tent was very nostalgic and reminiscent of the old VW vans of the past. As a matter of fact, it is licensed by VW which means that it is the real deal! This tent is suitable for children ages 3 and up and can be used for indoor and outdoor play. It is available in red, blue and pink and even comes with a “wheelie” carrying case. We really love the carrying case because it makes it easy to store and hang up in the closet when the kids are not playing with it.
As you can see from the photos of our boys, they really enjoyed playing with the VW Camper Van Play Tent. They already have plans to have a sleepover with their cousins this weekend. I was very impressed by how roomy the tent is and both of my boys can actually sleep comfortably inside of it with room to spare. You can purchase your own VW Play Tent by visiting www.themonsterfactoryusa.com or at Bed, Bath and Beyond this holiday season. Once you take it for a “test drive” you will be just as hooked as we are!
My son was nice and comfy inside the VW tent and he can’t wait to have a sleepover with his cousins this weekend.
Let’s Discuss: Why do you think that your kids would love the VW Camper Van Play Tent?

Oh my–I remember those VW’s from 1965!! Of course I also remember trying to fit into one of the VW Bugs with a bunch of friends-that tent looks bigger then the original car!! It also looks like lots of fun and I am sure your boys will get lots of use out of it.
I WANT ONE!! That is the cutest thing ever! We had a cheap-o tent, which was about half the size, that we got at Ikea. it was shaped like an igloo and both boys barely fit inside it – yet they loved to sleep in there all cramped up. The tent you got looks like there would be plenty of room for both of them plus some!
Haha! That is sooo cute. I want this for my niece – it would be so much fun then haha!
That is just too cute. I like how compact it is and how it could be stored easily when not in use.
Rinquincaya & PicaPica would just love this “secret hideaway”! And my son MAC wouldn’t mind too much because it’s an easy packaway. BB2U
We have something similar in a bus that transforms into a firetruck. We have had it for years and the kids still play with it.
That’s adorable! I love indoor/outdoor play tents. We get so much use out of them. Saved the ones from when my children were little and now my grand daughter uses it. I love the roomy size and style of this one!
This is so adorable and perfect for my preschooler! (Perfect for his play room.)
this is ready to go for some serious fun! very cute tent them too!
OMGosh that is just too cute. My nephews would seriously love this. What a great gift idea!
That is such a fun tent! My boys would have a blast having a mini camp out in it in our living room.
This looks like a blast! I’d love to get this for my kids it would be fun
I had something similar to that as a kid where it was a tunnel & connects to a cube tent, so fun!
That’s a really cute tent! My daughter would have loved it!
My kids would love any tents, but I love those VWs, so I’d totally choose these for them. How fun!
I actually own this and set up and take down is sooo easy. My kids love to play in it as well. Right now it’s indoors because of the weather but as soon as Spring/Summer gets here they’ll be outdoors again. 🙂
oh my gosh. My children would love this. My daughter has one of those pop up princes tents that you can sit in but she tries to sleep in it on her floor some nights. This would be perfect for her to actually lay down inside!
I’m really quite surprised how large and roomy it is. Naturally that makes me appreciate how compact it can folded up for storage. 🙂
Forget my kids, I would love it, LOL. I have always wanted one of those to drive. These tents would be the next best thing. 😉 All kidding aside, I think my niece would love this.
I love how it folds upin to the hub cap pouch so cute
Do you ever really outgrow the love of forts? I didn’t! 🙂 I’d have a blast playing with my son in one of these tents.
