When my siblings and I were little, our father worked in a neighborhood store and would always bring home treats for us to enjoy especially around the holidays. One year, he came home with a few Hess trucks for us to enjoy for Christmas but he explained to us that they were special because he was going to start a family tradition and buy the holiday Hess truck every single year for us to collect.
Even then, we understood that this was something special that was going to be shared between us and our father. True to his word, he brought home a new Hess truck every year while we were kids. The best thing was that, although they were collector’s items, he never stopped us from playing with them and we spent hours rolling them across the floor and turning their lights on and off.
When we received the opportunity to review the new 2013 Hess Toy Truck and Tractor, I knew that this was my chance to introduce my own children to this family holiday tradition that my father started all of those years ago. This year’s truck comes with a fully motorized multi-terrain tractor and is beautifully chrome detailed. Here are some of the cool specs on the new Hess Toy Truck and Tractor:

As you can see from the photos and video that my son made, he learned how to use all of the truck’s and tractor’s features right away. He was just so tickled with all of their moving parts and the fact that they both light up. It really warmed our heart to see this new family tradition come to life. I love that it has so many working lights and that it’s motorized. Also love that the front and back buckets are operational and that it’s a really nice size and well constructed.
My favorite thing about these vehicles is that they light up! That will definitely capture my grandson’s attention. I could see him rolling these across the floor for hours!

I love that there are so many lights, my son will love that so much! I have a 3 year old autistic son and anything with lights and THIS much action of a toy is perfect for him! The sounds and light will really make him laugh and smile for years to come.

My step brother used to buy one of the Hess trucks for my nephew every single year until finally I think he stopped. They are probably still sitting somewhere in their house-back in their boxes. These trucks were always great and my nephew loved to play with them (his Dad even more!)

I get my boys a Hess truck every year. It was one of those things I started when I had my first son 9 years ago. I thought it would be a cool tradition. Now I have to get two of them every year because they fight over who gets to use them LOL. Ugh…boys!

My father bought all the boys those trucks every year. Right now our tradition is going to Disney on Christmas day and New Years Eve. Other than that we don’t give each other gifts, but we don’t have kids yet.

i like that they light up. I think when i was younger they didn’t but either way my brother always got one every year. My aunt would send them to him and that is what i would like to do if i won give them to my nephew.

I like all the realistic sounds on the truck along with the 45 lights. The tractor with it’s 360 degree swivel back bucket sounds like fun too. Hess has come out with another awesome vehicle combo for the Christmas holiday.
