As my boys are getting older, I worry more and more about what they are being exposed to on the Internet. Although there are parental controls on most electronic devices these days, kids today are more tech savvy than ever and can often bypass these with a simple click. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids at the KidzVuz Holiday Event and I immediately realized that this product was exactly what my husband and I have been looking for in a tablet for our boys.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids Edition is full of exciting games and apps that are perfect just for children. It features an attractive interface that is designed to be user-friendly and appealing to kids full of bright colors and vivid images. Its interactive menus, avatars, and backgrounds immediately captured the attention of both of our boys who are ages 7 and 10. Also, since it boasts a fully functional tablet with Internet access, it has the ability to grow with our sons as they get older and have different technological needs socially and academically.
For us, the best part of this tablet for us parents is that it allows us to create a safe environment for our children by allowing us to customize their tablet experience. We have full control over which applications our children can access and we even have the ability to set limits around the amount of time that the kids spend on the tablet. It comes with a case that is safe for kids of any age which is certified by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and made entirely of non-toxic materials.
My seven year-old really loved the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids because he likes being able to play his favorite games such as, “Wipeout, Angry Birds Star Wars II, Toca Hair Salon 2.” The avatars and graphics on the home screen also caught his attention and he enjoys “that they have a little dog, a monkey and a cat to catch my attention while I’m searching for games.”
Our ten year-old liked that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids because there were “a lot of kid-friendly games.” He stated that he felt like he “didn’t have to worry about seeing things that kids are not supposed to see.” When asked about the screen graphics, he simply described them as, “Amazing!” There you have it, from the mouths of babes!
This tablet is also suitable for your entire family because the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids can easily switch from kids mode to standard mode so everyone in your home can enjoy the full capabilities of the Android™ Jelly Bean operating system. Imagine that! This is truly a tablet that every single member of your family can enjoy.
Let’s Discuss: What are some of the features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids that you would love, as a parent?

I remember when my sons were younger and getting their first handheld device was exciting…remember the GameBoy? Great review and glad you and hubby found something suitable for them. Happy New Year.
I really love that this one can switch from kids to adults and I really wish they had it when my friends son was younger! We had to constantly be walking back and forth to see what he was up to on the computer (no tablets back then!)
wow I like this this would be great for our homeschool, Thanks for this post I will be purchasing one
This looks like an awesome tablet. My boys both just got Kindle Fires, which I think is too much for my six year old – but there is no reasoning with my mom who is the one that bought them.
I think this would be a perfect item for my grandsons. They love playing their games on my tablet, but it would be nice to have this when they are over. I wouldn’t have to worry about them getting into things they shouldn’t.
Wow, seems like a really good buy. I should share this one for my niece.
My daughter would love this tablet! She is always trying to play games on my tablet but I dont want her to sneak into a part of the internet that isn’t suitable for her.
What a neat sounding tablet for kids I’m sure I would have loved something like this as a child. x
isn’t is great when an tiem like this is great for the entire family? I have issues sharing my electronics with the kids, but this one truly is friendly for everyone. I wouldn’t think about sharing twice
I saw these in Best Buy recently when I was looking at tablets. I told my kids they looked sturdy and like something they might not could break when they dropped it!
We have so many electronic devices at our home. A couple of years back we bought our son a tablet (not a cool samsung one), and it was crap, slow and it would freeze up all the time. That was around the same time that his dad got a brand new ipad, lets just say that the tablet has been collecting dust ever since….
I love that all of the apps are designed for children. I think my five year old would love this device.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is something my 6 year old would love to have
These look really neat! Something I will probably get when my girls are old enough.
I love that companies are making more items for the kids. They are a part of the family and do feel left out at times. I love Samsung and their line of products. Maybe when my 9 year old gets a little bit more mature I will look into getting one for him.
I didn’t know there was a kid version available! I love that my children can use it and I don’t have to worry about what they may be exposed to online! Great product!
WOW your kids really lucked out this year, you are so lucky. This keeps them entertained and more quiet time for you! LOL
Wow, wish to get one pr for my son too. hehehe sounds really neat to have that kind of tablet.
Thibs looks like a great tablet. I love Samsung products. My Samsung tablet is the best. It is cool that the operating system adjusts to adult and children.
What! There are tabs now for kids?! God, I feel old.. they look awesome though. I was born in the wrong era.. 🙂
