Protect Your Family This Flu Season! @MinuteClinic @CVS_Extra #Sponsored

*This post was written by me on behalf TBC for Minute Clinic.  I received complimentary product samples to facilitate this review.  All opinions are 100% mine.

As many of you already know, I am a six-year Leukemia Survivor.  As a result, my immune system is not as strong as that of a healthy person so I have to be very careful about getting sick, especially during cold and flu season.  Additionally, both of my boys and I are also asthmatics which makes us perfect candidates to receive the flu shot every year in order to protect ourselves.

This year, our doctor advised my husband that he, too should get the flu shot to make sure he does not bring the flu into the house and put the rest of us at risk.  We were very excited to find out that we can conveniently get a flu shot at the Minute Clinic at our local CVS pharmacy.  As a matter of fact, it couldn’t be easier to protect your family this flu season.  All you have to do is head into your nearest Minute Clinic location and have one of their nurse practitioners administer flu shots to your entire family.

Since my husband and I both work full-time, I was very pleased to find out that all of us could visit the Minute Clinic to get our flu shots because they are open seven days per week and even on evenings and weekends.  They accept most insurance plans and you don’t even need an appointment.  Since the rest of us had already received our flu shots this year, we decided to accompany my husband on a Friday evening to get his flu shot for this winter.

We were really surprised at how easy and convenient the whole process was.  My husband immediately registered all of his information at the Minute Clinic kiosk and we were called into one of the examination rooms shortly thereafter.  The whole process took a little over a half-hour.  As you can see from the photos, Hubby was all smiles as he was getting his shot and the nurse practitioner was extremely thorough.  Everything was sterile and clean and she was very professional.  Thank you to Brenda St. Louis FNP at the Minute Clinic in the CVS Pharmacy in Larchmont, NY for doing a great job!

Many people don’t realize how debilitating the flu virus can be once it is contracted.  More than 200,000 people are hospitalized each year because of the flu and this is simply a risk that I cannot take with my family.  Make sure you visit your local Minute Clinic at CVS Pharmacy and protect yourself and your entire family!*

My husband gets a flu shot every year because he is a diabetic.

  2. Amberlee Cave says

I will have to see if they have this around here. I need my flu shot this year!

  3. I haven’t been here all that long, so I had no idea that you were a Leukemia Survivor – CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I don’t usually get a flu shot because I’ve never gotten the flu (crazy, huh?), but I make my kids get one. Actually, they get the nasal mist, but it’s the same thing.

  4. My husband is also offered the flu shot every winter as he’s asthmatic!
We’re in the UK, but it’s great to see it’s easy to get a flu shot easily and conviniently!

  5. Daisy Tremorev says

We went to CVS Minute Clinic for our flu shots and it turns out that the nurse on staff also works at the children’s hospital, so she was a pro at giving the shot to my preschooler. She was done by the time he complained! It was so awesome!

  6. It is great to know that this is available. So much easier than scheduling appointments at the dr office for this.

  7. Hum, we must not live that far from each other-I also frequent the Larchmont CVs when I am working in that area. I am also in the CVS in Mamaroneck which can also administer diabetics tests but most often in Fleetwood near my apartment–Love my CVS!! (Just don’t ask me to get that flu shot!!)

  8. I know all too well about what the flu can do to you and your family. We lost my mom last year from flu complications so you know we are getting flu shots this year and next year and every year after that. Thank you for spreading the word on how easy it is to protect yourself and your family. –Ashley Gill

We wouldn’t dare get the flu shot, but we LOVE Walgreen’s for other things – like sports physicals! 🙂

  10. I don’t usually get a flu shot but my daughter who has a heart disease and Elher’s Danlos does for sure.

  11. I don’t get flu shots the one year I did I got a different strand that was very dangerous so just get the flu instead of get the shot.

  12. We took our flu shots and I made sure my parents did also. I am really into making sure I wash my hands before I touch food, especially if we have been out and about.

  13. Erickson & Co says

My husband’s Work offered us free flu shots this year 🙂

  14. I used to get flu shots every year, as I am a cancer survivor as well plus at the time my Father was battling lung cancer. Just this last year I have developed some allergic issues that stop me from being able to get the shot.

  15. Richard Hicks says

I am going to keep them in mind when someone gets the sniffles this year.

  16. Karen Hewitt says

We dont have the flu shots in our household its the only time we get sick is if we do. I completely understand why your dr is recommending them for your family and think that The Minute Clinic having these extra hours is very beneficial to those that work

  17. That would be nice to have a Minute Clinic around here for people that believe in getting flu shots. : )

  18. I think this is great that you can go in evenings and weekends too here we have to go to the nurse at the Dr surgery and some of them do not stay open late and well never on a weekend lol.

  19. We get our flu shots every year. This year we vaccinated our entire unit and I got mine so now it’s time for the kids to get theirs. I would rather have them protected than they get the actual flu.

  20. Teresa McCluskey says

I am going to check this out at CVS I need to get the kiddps their shot!

  21. Linda Kinsman says
