Many of you know that I love taking road trips and vacations with my family. My husband and I work very hard throughout the year and we like to spend time with our boys during the off season as much as possible. Being a family of four, it is always important to shop around for the best vacation deals and to stay at hotels and attractions that are family friendly. Recently, my husband mentioned that a co-worker of his took his family to the Coco Key Water Resort so I decided to go online and check out their rates for the July 4th holiday weekend.
It seems that Coco Key is a franchise because they have many locations throughout the United States. I found one in Mt. Laurel New Jersey and began to peruse through the photos of their hotel rooms and indoor water park. They offer a variety of vacation packages where you can stay in the hotel and get passes to the indoor water park with some meals included or you can just buy tickets to the water park and stay there for the day. I decided to call the hotel directly to get a better idea of exactly what I would be getting for my money.
After speaking with the hotel front desk, the young lady shared with me that they often have deals through Travel Zoo where you can book a vacation package at a discounted rate to their establishment. Luckily, they were running a promotion so I was able to book a room for a family of four overnight with tickets to their indoor water park for all four of us that were good for two days. For this package, I paid $169 + tax instead of the usual $239 + tax for a whopping savings!
When we arrived at the hotel and checked into our room, we were very impressed with how clean everything was. Our hotel room had two double beds, a flat screen television with cable, complimentary wi-fi, and the bathroom contained organic toiletries. All of the staff was very friendly and courteous at the hotel and throughout the indoor water park. Additionally, the bathrooms throughout both were also very clean.
Although some of their vacation packages include some meals, ours did not so we drove around the neighboring area for our meals. There are many fast-food restaurants and family restaurants and diners in the area to choose from. Also, the hotel has its own restaurant and the indoor water park has a concession stand which serves kid-friendly foods like pizza and hot dogs.
I was very observant at the indoor water park to see how proactive the lifeguards were in supervising swimmers, especially children. There were many lifeguards at each station and they were vigilant to make sure that nobody got hurt or put themselves in danger. A few times, they blew the whistle and warned children not to run through the water activities so that they wouldn’t get hurt. This is especially important for this mom when it comes to taking my children to places that include water activities, safety is of the utmost importance.
We had a great mini vacation and we spent quite a bit of time at the outdoor hotel pool and the indoor water park. Since this location was only about one hundred miles away from our home, it is definitely a great place for us to take frequent overnight getaways to. I recommend Coco Key Water Resort in New Jersey to any families looking to have a good time at a family friendly resort and not spend a lot of money!
