Although we don’t go back to school here in New York City until the beginning of September, many places across the country are preparing to begin school soon. All parents and students understand the importance of preparing for the beginning of the school year and making sure that kids have all of the necessary materials and resources to help them begin their new grade successfully.
As an educator and parent, one of my concerns when it’s time for Back to School is making sure to decrease the spread of germs as much as possible. Kleenex brand is supporting the Back to School season by supporting healthy kids in the classroom with their Everyday Tissue with Sneeze Shield.
Not only is their tissue extremely soft but it’s also a very useful in the classroom because it helps to decrease the spreading of germs. This is accomplished through their thicker and more absorbent tissues which help to keep moisture and germs off of kids’ hands. They also come in convenient portable packages that kids can carry in their book bags.
Unfortunately, due to budget cuts and the economy, many schools simply don’t have the resources to stock such necessary materials in every classroom. As a result, Kleenex brand and Box Tops for Education are teaming up to help schools earn extra money by clipping the Box Tops coupons from the packaging of items that we all use anyway on a regular basis. Kleenex is the only facial tissue brand that participates in the Box Tops for Education program.
Here are some of the essential Back to School items that are on our family’s list:
- Pencil Case
- Pencils
- Pencil Sharpener
- Blue and Black Pens
- Crayons
- Markers
- Looseleaf Paper
- Scissors
- Glue Sticks
- Ruler
- Pocket Folders
- Box of Kleenex Tissues
- Hand Sanitizer
- Lunch Bag
- Composition Notebooks
Each Box Tops coupon is worth 10 cents to your school and these coupons can be found on 240 participating household products. All you have to do is cut the coupon off the package of the item and bring it in to your child’s school for redemption. To date, the Kleenex brand has helped to donate $13 million dollars to the Box Tops for Education program.
This year, Latina moms and all moms can send their children off to school knowing that Kleenex brand tissues not only will help to decrease the spread of germs in their children’s classrooms, but also that they support schools by participating in the Box Tops for Education program. This is an important way that they help to put the focus back on what really matters to parents which is the education of their children.

I am always on the hunt for box tops and I never new that Kleenx had then as well. I think it is great what they do for our schools.
I am sure I have seen the box tops on the bottom of Kleenex but never really noticed them until now! Thanks for alerting us to them, Maria!

Thanks for sharing, I know what brand of tissue I will be sticking with from now on. My kids go to a private school and collecting the box tops has provided us with many benefits.
We collect Box Tops all summer and then divide them up between classes for the kids to take in. I have a ton of them! 🙂
