It’s no secret that finding a cure for Cancer is a cause close to my heart as I am a Leukemia Survivor.  Until that miracle takes place, it is very important to me that I support organizations that are aimed at improving the quality of life of other Survivors.  Undergoing Cancer treatment can be grueling physically and emotionally and it is important that we support those who have to go through this trying time.

Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is a global campaign that is aimed at helping people with Cancer deal with the impact that treatment can have on their appearance.  This program has served more than 800,000 Survivors for 24 years in the United States and around the world.  They offer free workshops, self help materials and webinars run by 7,000 volunteer beauty experts.  Sometimes, looking and feeling like their usual selves can go a long way in giving Cancer patients the self confidence, hope, and sense of normalcy that they need to fight their disease and to improve their overall quality of life.

The LGFB Beauty App and web tool allows users to walk through their 12-step beauty program which covers such topics as skin care and proper cosmetic applications to the use of turbans, hats and wigs for those suffering from hair loss.  Users can access instructional videos from fashion expert Stacy London or celebrity makeup artist Carmindy.  This app is available for iPhone and iPad in the AppStore and available online at www.lookgoodfeelbetter.org.
