In this home, we love avocados all year around. However, the holidays are a very special time to share some of our favorite dishes with our friends and families. My husband’s family has always added Avocados from Mexico to all of their favorite family recipes. One particular traditional recipe that is always a big hit at all our family dinners is his aunt’s Guacamole recipe.
When we were dating, he ranted and raved about her recipe and I honestly thought that he was exaggerating. After all, how hard could it be to make Guacamole? When I finally had the opportunity to actually try her recipe the first Christmas Eve that we spent together, I realized that it was indeed as delicious as my husband had bragged to me that it would be.
Although I have always enjoyed eating her Guacamole, I’ve never had the nerve to ask her for the recipe since she has always prided herself on being the one to prepare it. This year, I finally worked up enough courage to call her and ask her if she would teach me how to make her famous dish. She was extremely proud that I wanted to learn how to make her Guacamole and she immediately began telling me exactly how I could replicate it.
As she was sharing her recipe she promptly told me that Avocados from Mexico were essential to include in the Guacamole because they were the best avocados, in her opinion. After I jotted down all of the details of the recipe, I went about attempting to prepare the dish.
Not only did I make some delicious Guacamole, but I also had a chance to munch on delicious avocados from Mexico as I was preparing the dish. It was definitely a win-win situation and I am proud to say that preparing this recipe will continue to be an important tradition for this family during the holidays!

I just bought a bunch of avacados on sale, so I’m glad to see a great recipe I can use. I’m not sure if the ones I just obtained are from Mexico – I’ll have to watch for that! I like the idea of the cilantro and tabasco!
This recipe looks very tasty. Thanks for sharing!
