Last month, my family and I had the pleasure of attending Monster Jam at the MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey. We were very excited to see this live motorsport event tour and my sons were especially excited to have the opportunity to see all of the Monster Trucks in real life.
We had a fantastic time and amazing seats that allowed us to see all of the Monster Truck action right in front of us. There were a few things that were very surprising that I did not anticipate before the show.
First of all, I had a lot of fun. While I fully expected Hubby and the kids to have a great time, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. There was even a pink Monster Truck named Madusa that was operated by a female driver and it was nice to see her giving the guys a run for their money.
Secondly, these drivers really put their lives on the line each and every time they do a show. It was shocking to see the danger involved in all of the stunts and we held our breath during every crash as we awaited to get word about the condition of the driver. Luckily, nobody was hurt that night but, I can tell you, those drivers are very brave and those crashes were real.
Lastly, we were so impressed with how much audience participation there was throughout the show. After each run, the drivers climbed into the stands and talked to fans, took photographs with the kids, and gave away prizes to the fans with the best signs. This was the driver of the Spider-Man Monster Truck, Bari Musawwir, with my oldest son.
We will never forget what a great time we had at Monster Jam!
