Being a working mother, I am always looking for fun and exciting activities to do with my family that allow us to spend quality time together and to enjoy ourselves. That is why I was absolutely thrilled to be offered the opportunity to attend the Nuclear Cowboyz Motocross Show at the IZOD Center last week. The minute I told my boys that we were going to attend this event, they asked me every single day if that would be the day we would attend. Thank goodness the day finally arrived and we headed out to East Rutherford, New Jersey to the IZOD Center.
We arrived early in order to attend the Nuclear Cowboyz Fallout Zone where the kids got to meet and greet all of the riders of the show. As soon as we walked into the venue, we were immediately treated like VIPs. We all had to wear VIP badges just to be allowed entry into the restaurant and we were given posters that the riders signed with their autographs. It was priceless to see the look on my sons’ faces as they shook hands with some of the most famous names in motocross. While we enjoyed some light refreshments, we also had the opportunity to take pictures with some of the dancers from the show as well.
The thing that immediately struck me about the meet and greet was that it was such a family friendly event. There were other families there and everyone was extremely patient with all of the children. The stars of the show were very gracious about taking photographs and even answered questions that my sons had for them about their motocross experiences. As a matter of fact, they even kept the restaurant open before the show just to let my nephew use the bathroom at the last minute. I’m sure you all know how kids always seem to have to go to the restroom at the most inconvenient times.
After the meet and greet, we made our way to our seats to see the show. We were in the third row from the front so we got to see everything up close! My husband commented during the show that you could feel the heat of the fire and pyrotechnic lights because we were so close to everything. Between the music and the special effects, my sons and my nephew were in complete awe of everything. It was heartwarming to see the looks on their faces as the show started.
Although the motocross tricks in the show were amazing, the storyline was awesome too. The show centered around two freestyle motocross tribes whose survival in their futuristic world is acted out through freestyle aerial feats. A narrator tells their story in the background while music is played to accompany the riders as they do their death defying motocross routines. There was non-stop action from beginning to end and we all held our breath every single time one of the riders catapulted his motorcycle into the air.
Everyone should take their families to see the Nuclear Cowboyz! You can visit their website to check out their schedule of events and find out when they will be coming to your town. Believe me, it will be an experience that you and your family will never forget!
