Over the years, having medium wavy to curly hair has been a blessing and a curse all at once. I’ve always loved the fact that I have thick hair with a lot of body but, unfortunately, wavy hair does not respond that well to weather changes or humidity. It can sometimes be hard to keep the frizzies away and to have gloss and definition to the waves in my hair.
The Spring and Summer months have been known to be especially difficult on my hair texture and I normally pull it back into a ponytail or a bun just to not have to deal with it. Obviously, this is not ideal as I would love to show off my long brown hair and not have to worry about it looking frizzy or like straw. As a result, I am always looking for new products that will nourish and hydrate my hair while at the same time accentuate its body and waves.
GK Curls DefineHer seemed like a perfect product to tame my wild mane and I was very excited to have the opportunity to try it out and see if it was up to the challenge. It is described as being able to create smooth, soft, defined curls and waves while controlling frizz and flyaways. The concentrated dose of Juvexin creates a protective shield over each strand leaving a soft smooth finish.
I immediately loved the scent of this product as it was sweet and fresh and I knew that it would smell great on my hair. Since I received the product, I have been using it as a kind of leave in conditioner/detangler as I love how it instantly conditions my hair after I wash it. Currently my hair is about halfway down my back and it breaks off easily after shampooing it when I brush it out.
I use the GK Curls DefineHer immediately after washing my hair and make sure I rub it through all the way through from the roots to the tips before combing out the tangles. I’ve noticed that it leaves my hair silky and smooth and allows me to brush it out with minimal breakage. Additionally, it really defines my curls and makes them look shiny and wavy which is perfect for wet and curly styles that I like to wear.
Please visit the GKhair website to learn about their full line of styling products. I’m pretty confident that, whatever your hair type, you will find products that are specifically geared towards your styling needs and at an extremely affordable price!

Hi Maria. May I make a suggestion? I have curly hair too and I get compliments on it almost every day. I used to struggle with it as well until I read this great book called Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey. She is a hairstylist in NY and has curly hair herself. She recommends that you do NOT wash your hair, or wash it very infrequently, and that you never brush it. Curly hair needs its natural oils, much like African American hair. I only wash my hair once a week now, and when I do I use a mild sulfate-free shampoo and a leave-in conditioner (Redken Smoothdown). I never comb or brush my hair I just shake it out, put mousse on it, and let it air dry or diffuse it. The day I wash it is the day it looks the worst! It really does look better when you leave it alone. I do get it wet every day and use styling mousse. I have never been happier with my hair since I started following her advice! Just an FYI 🙂

I would like for my daughter to be able to try the CurlsDefineHer product she is so self conscious about her beautiful curls (she works so hard on them and at times doesn’t like them)
