Aerobie Skylighter Disc Review and Giveaway

Both of my sons are very active.  They love to play outdoors and engage in all types of activities.  One of the things that they absolutely love to do is play frisbee as they spend hours outside tossing it back and forth to each other.  As a result, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review the Aerobie Skylighter Disc.

The Skylighter Disc is unique in that it can be enjoyed both during the day and also once the sun goes down.  You see, this disc contains a light module that players can turn on to illuminate it for evening play.  It’s patented aerodynamic design makes it easy for players of all skill levels to throw and its cushioned rim makes for comfortable catches.

Founded in 1984 by Stanford University engineering instructor Alan Adler, Aerobie Inc. has built a reputation as the leader in high performance sport toys.  The unique patented designs of Aerobie brand products have been prominently featured in national media and have been honored with numerous design and performance awards.  It’s obvious that a lot of thought has gone into creating this unique outdoor activity experience.

My boys absolutely loved the Aerobie Skylighter Disc and enjoyed tossing it to each other during the day and continued well after the sun went down.  The disc lights up completely and brightly and can be easily seen flying through the air in complete darkness.  We were pleasantly surprised at how light the disc was and I loved the fact that it had a cushioned rim so I didn’t have to worry about injuries from getting hit in the face with it as is what often happens with conventional frisbees.

The Aerobie Skylighter Disc retails for $15 and is sold at Sports Authority, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and most other sporting goods stores. It is recommended for ages 10 and up but my five year old loved playing with it and, due to the cushioned edge, did not get hurt in any way.  You can visit their website to learn all about the full line of Aerobie products.  Also, you can visit their product site to see the Skylighter Disc in action and learn ways to enjoy it with your own family.
