As a Working Mom, I am always looking for ways to include wholesome foods in my family’s diet. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to prepare meals and I constantly look for foods that will provide my children with the nutrients and vitamins that they need without taking too much time to prepare. This is also true for what we consider to be the most important meal of the day, breakfast. I want my boys to start their day with a good meal that will energize them for the day ahead.
Studies have shown that diets that are high in fiber are found to be associated with a healthy heart. My boys can now enjoy great nutrition every morning by eating Kellogg’s FiberPlus Cereals. Not only do these cereals taste delicious but, they also contain three times the fiber of other popular morning cereals. Kellogg’s also offers a wide variety of Fiber Plus snack bars that can be eaten on the go when there isn’t enough time to sit down and enjoy a bowl of cereal.
Most Americans aren’t getting the amount of fiber that they need in order to truly have a healthy and balanced diet. Antioxidants have been known to protect people against heart disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases. Fiber has also been known to promote good digestive health and to reduce the risk of getting certain cancers or diabetes.
Kellogg’s FiberPlus cereals are an excellent source of several essential nutrients including fiber and the antioxidant vitamins C and E, and are a delicious way to get these important nutrients into your diet. They are available in three yummy flavors, Berry Yogurt Crunch, Caramel Pecan Crunch, and Cinnamon Oat Crunch. They all contain the necessary vitamins and minerals to help jump start your day.
I had the opportunity to review two popular Kellogg’s Fiber Plus Cereals, Kellogg’s FiberPlus Berry Yogurt Crunch and Kellogg’s FiberPlus Cinnamon Oat Crunch. Berry Yogurt Crunch is made of whole grain wheat and rice flakes with berry and yogurt flavored clusters. Cinnamon Oat Crunch is made of naturally flavored cinnamon whole grain oat cereal. Here is how the two cereals measure up in terms of their nutritional value:
Kellogg’s FiberPlus Berry Yogurt Crunch
+40% of your Daily Fiber
+Antioxidant, Vitamins C and E
+25g of Whole Grains
Kellogg’s FiberPlus Cinnamon Oat Crunch
+35% of your Daily Fiber
+Antioxidant, Vitamins C and E
+16g of Whole Grains
Both of the cereals tasted great! The Berry Yogurt Crunch flakes had an authentic Berry taste that was not too fruity and overpowering. The Cinnamon Oat Crunch cereal had a distinct Cinnamon taste and also tasted sweet. It was hard to believe that we were eating cereal that is so good for us but tasted so great at the same time. My children absolutely loved both cereals and not only ate them for breakfast but also to snack on during the day.
By the time I got to taste both of the cereals, the boxes were half empty since my boys had already helped themselves! I personally liked the Berry Yogurt Crunch the best because it tasted like fresh berries and I prefer cereal that is crunchy and has flakes. As a mother, it makes my job a lot easier when foods that are nutritious and wholesome also are pleasing to eat and appeal to the palates of children and adults alike.
Kellogg’s Fiber Plus cereals are a good choice to get fiber and antioxidants into your diet. I definitely recommend adding these cereals to your family’s diet because they taste so good and are rich in antioxidants and Vitamis C & E. What more could you ask for in a breakfast cereal?
