Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch Review and Giveaway

We consume a lot of cereal in my house. I guess you could say that we are sort of “Cereal Connoisseurs.” Each one of us has a different favorite cereal and Cocoa Puffs have always been a favorite that we all have in common. That is exactly why I jumped at the chance to review the new Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch Cereal. My family couldn’t wait to see how they could have possibly improved on a cereal that has always been so yummy. Believe me, Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch tastes just as good as original Cocoa Puffs but even better!  My boys loved it so much that they immediately began to eat it right out of the box!

Anyone who loves brownies will immediately taste how the delicious taste of brownies has been “baked” into every bowl.  My sons like to eat cereal without milk and they loved snacking on this one on the go.  The combination of whole grains and chocolate give it just the right taste of sweetness and wholesome goodness.  I love that my boys can eat it for breakfast, which is the most important meal of the day, and also enjoy it as a snack in between meals.

Normally, cereals that taste sweet don’t have the best nutritional value.  This is definitely not the case here.  Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch contains at least 8 grams of whole grain (48 grams recommended daily) and is a good source of calcium and vitamin D in every serving.  It is essential that children eat a hearty breakfast every morning in order to energize them and to prepare them for the day ahead.

So why is eating cereal with whole grain so important?  Only whole grain gives you the important nutrients found in the complete grain.  It contains fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and other vital nutrients for a healthy diet.  It is estimated that 95% of all Americans do not consume enough whole grains in their diets but people who eat a lot of whole grains have better overall diets.  Luckily, General Mills has over 70 cereals that contain 8 grams or more of whole grains per serving and Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch is one of these cereals!

As an added bonus, all General Mills products contain Box Tops for Education on every box that help you earn cash for your kids’ school.  All you have to do is collect the Box Tops that can be found on the carton and submit them in order to earn money that your kids’ school can spend on new books, technology and software, or to meet any of the school’s academic and recreational needs.
