Host An “Horneando Juntas” Event with Hershey’s®!-Review and Giveaway

Posted By on December 10, 2011

This holiday season, the Hershey Company would like to introduce you to a new kind of gathering that is sure to become the talk of all your friends.  You can now create magical moments and spend quality time with your family and friends hosting an horneando juntas event.  It is a fun and delicious cookie exchange where memories can be made and secret recipes or ingredients can be shared all in the name of family and the holidays.

Hornea con tus amigas y disfruta!  Bake with your friends and have a great time!  These types of events where cookies are exchanged and the host and guests bake and exchange the cookies that they baked with one another, are a long standing tradition in the United States.  Everyone has the opportunity to sample each other’s cookies and to trade recipes as well as the delicious cookies they each baked.  At the end of the party, everyone leaves with some warm memories, some yummy cookies, and some exciting baking ideas to try out in their own kitchens.

Even if you are not sure what to make for your intercambio de galletas, or cookie exchange,  you can try some of the great recipes from La Cocina de Hershey’s® or the Hershey’s® Kitchen:

Some tips for organizing a Hershey’s Horneando Juntas event include inviting guests at least two weeks in advance so they have plenty of time to RSVP and to decide what they are going to bring to the event.  Also, encourage your guests to bake with ingredients such as coconut, guayaba, dulce de leche, among other traditional Latin flavors.  This will surely open the door for a fun and multicultural gathering.

At the event, everyone will sample each other’s cookies and trade with one another so that nobody will go home empty-handed.  That is why it is preferable to host this kind of event on the weekend when everyone will be available.   It is important to be a good host and offer a hot seasonal beverage, such as HERSHEY’S® Cocoa or warm apple cider. You may also want to have coffee, tea, milk or juice.  You can even have everyone leave with a goody bag full of the cookie recipes that everyone submitted to the event.

We actually decided to have a mini horneando juntas event during our lunch period at work and here are some photos of the cookies that were brought in:
