We are all really starting to be surrounded by all the sights, sounds, and especially tastes of the holiday season. Nestlé La Lechera wants to bring sweet smiles to your home this season through their current campaign featuring a Latin dessert favorite, FLAN!
In my home, Flan is definitely a dessert that is associated with the holidays. As a matter of fact, I have very fond memories of eating Flan as a child in Spain and preparing it alongside my mother and grandmother. It is just one of those cooking traditions that is passed down from generation to generation and everyone has their own unique way of preparing it and a special touch that they add that makes the taste special to their family.
Of course, some of the best ingredients that can be included in any great Flan recipe are Nestlé La Lechera’s sweetened condensed milk and dulce de leche products. These two ingredients are a yummy part of a variety of traditional Latin desserts. Most families simply cannot resist Flan that is made with such delicious ingredients whether it is made traditionally or with a special twist.
This year, I decided to include both of my sons in the process of preparing Flan for a family holiday dinner. They had a lot of questions about how to prepare the Flan and also enjoyed hearing stories of the many memories that I have of eating this traditional dessert as a child. I loved being able to share these memories with my boys and being able to pass down an important family tradition.
Since I’m not that talented in the kitchen, I just logged on to the La Lechera website and pulled up their Vanilla Flan recipe. The directions were pretty simple to follow and the Flan tasted wonderful. Just look at the pictures below…
